Amp gurus here will give you the answer, so stick around.Hi everyone. New to the forum. Found this page in my search for the Vox VT20X reviews and have to say I'm 95% in for it. Just have some doubts that I can't find answered straight anywhere else. First, can you use a looper pedal with this amp? I saw the pedal that you can buy for it can be used to change between channels, but not for loops. Second, can you easily record this without mic? i saw a review (from one video already shared here) that you can somehow use the usb cable for that, although didn't quite got it. But it works?
I'm very much divided between this beasty and the newer Fender Mustang GTX50 that has pedal with loop functions, the straight output line for recording plus the (not necessarily needed but) Bluetooth..... But this is cheaper and Im a student (also was considering the spark for a while, but many people point to it being a little bit toooo bass heavy, which I dislike)
Anyway, any help would be mightly appreciated

#1 Spark is a great amp, see my videos it’s a good home or recording amp
Recording the VTX I’m unsure of, using a looper is like any amp with no FX loop. Is hard to get a different tone to lay over a loop without a pedal. Fender maybe better for that.
is looper 101
From all I heard from Spark it does seem like a very nice little amp. I even installed the app on the phone to check and seemed cool.... But.... alas, I can not listen to that bassy tone, at least to my ears. And from what I've seen in other reviews it's quite hard to get rid of it even with bass dialed all the way down... I guess the only way to know for sure would be to test one in person, but now with everything closed here.... and also, don't think I would be able to find a Spark to try any shop for that matterWas really hoping for some workaround with the vox for loops and recording, cause all I hear is amazing things and the videos I hear it sounds amazing. Plus.... I really don't want to spend 400€ for the Mustang GTX50 if I can get what I want for 150...
Seriously I don’t get that bass bollox on the Spark. I have Jam mine with the guys and it rocked. I use single coil tho. Not HB. Some people just love to moan don’t beleive all u see on YT
Yeah tooooo many paid "free from ad" videos on youtube. I usually stick to 3 guys, ans only of yhem tried the spark and despite being favorable to it, he also talked about the bass heaviness...
Have you tried on a tele? Twangy?
or run it into a larger cabSeriously I don’t get that bass bollox on the Spark. I have Jam mine with the guys and it rocked. I use single coil tho. Not HB. Some people just love to moan don’t beleive all u see on YT
The VTX is awesome, but if you have the extra coin, go for the 40 amp. The larger speaker is better tone
or run it into a larger cab...........
