Getting Another Surgery...

The product claims to be "durable" and "long lasting", which implies eventual failure after it has integrated into your system. I find this concerning. It has been around since 2005, which is fairly long. Have you been presented with alternatives?

As always, I wish you the very best

If you've ever been woken up in the middle of the night after regurgitating a mouthful
of pure stomach acid up your throat into your mouth you'd know why.
Yup... I really do know the feeling, and it's fricking gross. Gets in the lungs too! I've been taking Aciphex (Rabeprazole) for years to keep it under control. My thirst for beer doesn't help the situation... :BH:

Wishing you well on your procedure and recovery, Chris!
That is some impressive technology.

I had some of that acid in the throat thing at night and reflux some years ago; stress related.
Treated with meds for a awhile but subsided after a conscious change in attitude, also around the time I took up playing (trying) guitar.

The new diet may be trying, or maybe not as you adjust.
Maybe it will help your guitar playing become more fluid.

Thanks everyone! I've been taking Pantoproprazole for many years. This stuff can do major damage to you kidneys and liver.

I just want something more permanent and drug free. There is a more complicated procedure that requires five incisions in
your stomach. I thought I was getting that one, but the doctor swears by this new procedure using robotics...

If you watch the video around 2:21 it shows the tissue actually growing together in a manner such as stitches.

I don't believe those plastic staples are meant to last forever, just long enough for the tissue to grow together...

but my winkie weights more than a pencil.......................................(and yes sometimes its on the floor.......) This is poor advice IMHO -- I mean .......you have to pick up your winkie..........

wait what forum is this again?

oh
:io:

No all DICKING ABOUT aside Chris --- I do wish you a safe surgery and speedy recovery ....and if you see my winkie on the floor DONT PICK IT UP --- Lord KNOWS where it has been !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do what I do, and use a wheelbarrow!

...and this one has me a little nervous! Hiatal Hernia Repair to resolve long standing issues with GERD!

This is a video of what will happen. Following this another surgeon will be doing something else to my throat to remove scar tissue...

Best of luck man! I'm sure when it's all said and done you will have no regerds...umm, I mean ragrets...err...regrets. Yeah, that one, regrets.

I have been on Omeprazole (a different PPI) for a couple years but I try n alternate that with Ranitidine. At some point when I lose some weight and really get my lifestyle changes going, it should be better. Not really GERD as such.

I take that as well. The Pantoprazole is the big guns and the Omeprazole is for the days where I need something lighter...

I was also taking Famotidine for a while. Just to many PPI's to do me any good health wise.

Oh I see. I assumed all PPIs were the same. Once the acid is not produced didn't know one could do more. So less risk with the Omeprazole I guess. I spose I should look them up. Cheers

Best of luck, brother!

I've had Gerd issues for years. I just had an upper endoscopy to check for any damage or scar tissue. I have my follow up next month.
