I am looking for a good budget Tele, the typical single coil type, preferably with a maple board.
I have a Rondo Music SX tele for sale for two reasons - 1 as part of recouping some funds after buying my 1st Gibson (the honeymoon continues).
2 - the main reason - neck dive. Light basswood body.

I was looking at the Squier Bullet, but it also has basswood body and am not near enough any stores to try one.

Anyone have experience / recommendations?
I have some better tuners, can deal with nut or fret issues, and would likely replace the pickups.
Used is better, but I hardly see ANY used Squier Teles, lots of strats though.
Or, the ones I do see are way over priced.

Check out an older 90s Peavey Reactor if you can manage to find one for overall value and sound. More modern options, the Squier Affinity is good and is a poplar body but if youre wanting to go just a little more in budget, the Squier Classic Vibe is a loaded up 70s Deluxe with all the bells and whistles.

Another one ive heard is a good affordable option is the Jay Turser.

Thomann have this one for example.

Great guitar for the money

Not sure what your definition of budget is, but the Squier Classic Vibe Teles are very nice. A used one should be in the neighborhood of $250.

As said, Harley Benton is great, but you can only order them from Thoman, and I'm not sure how shipping is right now.

Cant SECOND that ENOUGH ---if your budget will allow --- 200-350.00 you can find GOOD SOLID USA MADE Reactors in that range FAR BETTER than the lower end Squire Affinity Stuff.

Harley Bentons Are also Good and very affordable

ALSO take a LOOK AT GUITARFETISH --- decent gear-- GREAT PICKUPS --good hardware -- brass saddles....

Alder bodies Canadian ROCK MAPLE necks -- starting UNDER 200.00 NEW

The Classic series Mexican Teles are nice, if the price isn’t too high. I got one with a transparent white lacquer finish and maple fingerboard for $575. Had to pay extra for the very nice tweed hard shell case. You can probably find one used for a good price.
