I'm going to try to make a very long story short so bare with me.

This was my first parts build back in 2013. It's been thru many changes, lots of experimenting and lots of mistakes along the way. Korina body and I don't remember what the neck was. Originally it had a Tele style bridge with a HB mount, a single humbucker and a volume control. I can't seem find a pic of the initial build, sorry, but this is basically what it was to start with except for the bridge. I soon realized I didn't like the bridge at all so I swapped it for this half Tele bridge and added the pickup mounting ring and here's a pic of that.

After a couple of years when I was building other guitars I wasn't playing this one much and since I didn't have much money in it and I had always wanted to know what a P90 was all about I decided what the hell and I routed out 2 of the corners of the HB route to fit a P90 in it. I bought a Seymour Duncan Hot P90 (because I'm a huge Mike Ness fan), I didn't like the ceramic magnet thing it had going on so I swapped the magnets out for A2s. Perfect! That mini switch was a direct to jack.

But there was this huge gap behind the pickup..

I wanted to try different neck pickups so I ended up routing it out for a P90 neck pickup and added the pickguard to cover up my sloppy dremel work, the control plate is because with a pick guard it looked funny without it. I tried several different pickups in the neck, P90, Tele neck pickups and mini humbuckers. Here's one version of it with a custom control plate and by this time it had ended up with a short scale conversion neck and that neck has stayed, Wenge with a Ziricote fretboard...

Eventually I figured out that I just like the single bridge P90 and a volume knob so for a while now it's looked like this. The switch and tone knob haven't been hooked up for a while...

Now, it was my intention since the P90 install to replace the body on this as soon as I figured out exactly what it was going to be so I decided now was the time. Another thing I wanted to do when I replaced the body was to go with a TOM and Stopbar and get away from the Fender style bridge that makes the strings sit so low to the body, it's uncomfortable for me to play so I got this new body with an angle neck pocket to accommodate the Tom bridge without having to recess it and end up with the same thing.

So here's my new body and as far as I'm concerned my new old guitar! :celebrate: I'm super happy with it even tho it still needs some setup work.

Raw body...

A little dark brown dye to hopefully make it match the neck better..

And in case anyone likes to see wiring, I don't believe in cutting off excess, you never know when you might need it..

Final Specs are...
Black Korina Tele Body, tummy and forearm contours with angle neck pocket, TOM and Stopbar.
SD hot P90 with A2 magnet swap, single volume, no tone
Short scale conversion Wenge neck with Ziricote fretboard, Shaller M6 mini tuners.

Total beast!! I couldn't be happier with it!

What would you call this, a Tele Jr? lol!

For the record, the new body and the different bridge style did absolutely nothing tone wise. It still sounds the same, just feels better to play with the strings up higher from the body , that and losing the pick guard is all I cared about. FTW!

I think y'all are just being polite, I still haven't figured out my camera and the pics are all grainy and I don't know why, those are some crap pics, lol!!!

I appreciate it tho. :kewl:

I hope to get some better pictures when I get my other guitars together and do up some family photos...even if I have to buy a new camera. :yesway:

I thought someone might ask about my other guitar build since it was first, but since you haven't asked I'm not going to tell you how I screwed up bad and am still trying to fix my mistake on that one. :confused2:

You are correct, they were just being polite so as not to hurt your feelings over that super ugly Tele. Let me spare you the pain of looking at that any more. Just send it to me to hide from public view. I'll make sure it will never offend anyone's eyes again.
