Foxy Lady: Can It Be Done From Scratch in One Hour???

That was our topic of discussion this morning. We had an hour slot available between appointments. So, we conspired to record Hendrix's 'Foxy Lady' in that one hour block, good or bad, shooting from the hip, and recording everything in one take, good or bad. To save time, my partner and drummer extraordinaire, laid down the bass tracks on keys. I played two rhythm guitar parts, each recorded separately in one take, back-to-back and panned left and right. The fills and the solo were recorded in one take and they were duplicated and panned left and right.

We added reverb to the vocals and the guitar solo and we stopped when we hit the 60 minute mark.

See what you think of this rushed project...

Definitely want to re-track the vocals, add bass tracks and also fix the timing errors, but its as good - if not better - than what I hear in clubs...

Could you do a cover of "green acres" sung to the tune of purple haze?

Green acres is the place to be.
Farm living is the life for me.
Land spreading out so far and wide...
Keep Manhattan, just gimme that country side !
(do do do - do do do, do do do)

New York is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay!
I just adore a penthouse view
Darling I love you, but give me park avenue.
(do do do- do do do, do do do)

Psychedelic Reverse agricultural tractor solo....

Very good Robert!! Its very well done just the way it is, i know you will want to do more work with it. Vocals and all around playing is great, like i have said before you are a talented musician.

Well, we were in a hurry, so mistakes are bound to happen!!!!

@Jimi Some Moore

60 minutes start to finish with all mistakes and timing errors left in place. Not try to emulate Jimi, but rather create a familiar version of the classic. Average work at best...
