My Rig - Then & Now:

I never played out enough to have a “rig”. I just have a collection of stuff :rolf:

Interesting point. I mean, I haven't played a proper gig since the late '90's and I haven't played in a studio since 2018 but I still maintain a full gig-ready rig "just in case" which is probably silly but I guess gives me some sort of piece of mind. Or maybe just wishful thinking.

@Jethro Rocker has the best pics!!!!!
Thanks! These days I take ome of my good cameras and get it set up with lens etc. Then usually there is someone I know I can trust to take pics. The missus has taken lots years ago withour little camera. A couple band guys daughters actually have really good eyes!

I try to do video too. Someday that is all we will have for memories.

I spent a lot of time putting together a post last night, then the power went out in the area. So, basically... Long story, short...

Played a '68 SG Junior with a '65 Ampeg Gemini II, and a couple of pedals for ages between 1978 and 1986. Got some transient stuff until settling on my '89 JTM45 and an '86 Hiwatt Lead 50R and a couple of Marshall SIlver Jubilee slant cabs. At this point, I added a couple of '69 SG Standards, an '82 and '85 Les Paul Standards. Had other stuff, but they weren't the gig guitars. I got talked into selling the Hiwatt, and eventually replaced it with a '79 Marshall JMP.

That set up did not change until about 2007 when I bought a '71 Fender Deluxe Reverb and a DST Engineering DST30 (AC30 clone). At this point, Awakening Stick broke up, and I started the Vogon Poets. I started playing my Firebird more often, as well as one of my Strats, as well as the '69 SG and '85 Les Paul.

In 2010, I finished building my Flying V, and the made my Billy-Bo. They are now two of my main players. My main amps are my '79 JMP, DST Solera 50, '71 Hiwatt Custom 100, and '89 Marshall JTM45. Cabinets vary, but they either have Fanes or old Celestions in them.

As for pedals, from '78 until '88ish, I used an MXR Distortion +, a Ross Compressor, and a Morley Power Wah. Then I eventually moved to a Boss Blues Driver and a Cry Baby. Around 2004, a friend sold me his Fulltone '69 Pedal (old Grey Version), and I fell into the boutique pedal rabbit hole.
