Sounds:
The wife was up early, 6:30 and in good form, so I took the opportunity to plug the tele in. It sounds great in all four positions.
Bridge: a bit of twang, not too much, very usable; I like the sound. This is new to me, so I haven't sorted out playing genres in this space yet (but, I will).
Middle in Parallel: this is what I played on the most, a nice warm sound with a bit of jangle (but not too much). I was mostly playing on this. Great for little blues tunes.
Middle in Series: we're getting towards an SG neck sound here which is what I most like playing on a humbucker SG, so that was a very pleasant surprise. Nice bit of "powering up" - I could see myself playing in this position a lot later in the day when I up the volume and intensity. This has to be your rock and roll - I'll be doing a bit of "Sunshine of Your Love" later on this pickup.
Neck: sounds nice, but I haven't used it much yet because I found myself naturally going to the middle in parallel instead - I think that might be my goto on this tele. (Funnily enough, the SG Special with P90s also sends me to the middle position as a goto when just messing around by meself - maybe it's the single coil sound that gets me?).
Don seems to have been right with the treble bleed because I'm not losing volume when adjusting the treble knob.
Fun Fact 1: I'm so stupid that the first knob (the volume) I was using as a tone while the further back knob (the tone control) I was using as a volume control, and feeling a bit disappointed, for the first 30 seconds or so...

In my defense, it was early, I'm in an apartment, so I was playing at very low volumes. Maybe I thought I was playing a strat?
Fun Fact 2: I had the treble on full the whole time (sounded great) (the amp, THR10 on crunch setting was pretty much at midday across the settings) which I never do; this is a sweet and warm guitar, no nasty trebbly/ice-pick tones.
All in all, the little sweetie sounds as I'd hoped, as I'd heard from the sound clips (which was a large part of what attracted me to this guitar), but even better. Once I plug in the tube amp with a bit of volume then the SG might not get a workout for a while.
Honeymoon period, I know, but she's above expectations in all areas thusfar. Just gotta practice more...
