I should have added to my previous post, but spaced.

I love how they drive Zambonis clean the rivers so you have nice skating paths, and little rinks to play hockey or figures, or goof around. We would skate until we were very cold, then stop to warm up someplace, skate some more, warm up, and so on.

It was a fun week. My wife had to work most of it. I was just there goofing off as I was laid off at the time.

This is us goofing around after a show put on the the skating club. When one of the more talented coaches used to run the show, she would always make me take part. She would always find fun roles for me to fill, without much technical skating skills.

When she was competing, she was quite good. She finally got her hip replaced last fall, and has slowly been getting back on the ice. No jumps, bit still skating some.

One of the things Cheryl had for Ice Chips that year, was the "Rat Pack" segment. Of all the guys in the club who had placed in top the top three at national and international competitions that year, they did something to Sinatra, Martin, And Davis Jr. At the last minute she asked me and two other guys if we had instruments we could bring, and be the "House Band" in the corner of the ice. I brought my bass, another brought a sax, and the other a trombone. We basically danced and goofed off in the corner, and made it look good.

Kurt Browning was the guest skater that year, and did this great choreography to "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" along with a great '70s pimp costume. When he saw me afterward, he said "I wish I knew you were doing that. I would have loaned you my pimp hat."
