It's not old and it's not a Gibson

It's a 2016 Maybach Albatroz in aged TV Yellow, a pretty faithful replica of a 1965 SG Junior. A distressed finish is perhaps not what I'd have chosen otherwise but that's all they come in. Weight is 3.1kg according to the COA.

There is one for sale in Sweden but the seller is asking too much and wouldn't come down, but yesterday this showed up on Reverb, in Holland. I negotiated the price and it's on its way.

These (Maybach) are a bit weird as they are close reproductions of various Fenders and Gibsons but priced quite a bit higher than the regular production models. This one, used, cost about the same as a new Gibson SG Jr. New it would have been another $400. I think their aim is to compete with the custom shop instruments rather than the production models. We'll see.
