ABR-1 Saddle Placement

pull the bushings in the bridge and put in the ones for a metric bridge from Gotoh or a good quality one.As DonP says there a better stronger bridge.might even be a Nashville metric to fit your neck radious your having done.

And the EAD saddles turned around on a ABR-1 Bridge is par for the course. Why they come up with the Nashville or Harmonica bridge.

And once again donp is right about the shite for neck angle on your SG.To much angle = higher bridge= higher tailpiece.Necks with not enough neck angle will result in the bridge being decked and string action still high.Where the bolt on necks have the advantage there.

I agree..the bigger based stud is better...

Id go the bigger stud metric bridge myself if you can get a good quality one in the 14 " radious. i mean since your not worried about historical value why not there stronger.

Nashville has more saddle travel. But honestly, I like the look/construction of the ABR-1 better...
The look may be preferable to some, but I wold always take issue with the construction. To start with that wire retainer is tedious to remove and may fail over time, especially if removed often enough.

I can see where the wire could be a problem. But it's tough changing the saddles in a Nashville. Every screw has a retainer.

Buy one with saddles you like. They do not wear for a very long time, and if they do, it is cheap enough to replace the whole bridge. You will not likely need to reverse them for intonation purposes since they have much greater travel.

Haven't found one yet with a 14" radius.
