Very cool! Little cleaning up and it would be a great freebie score! The Vypers were actually pretty decent combo modelersSo my coworker gave me the amp and it appears to be a Vyper 30 watt! I won’t be able to get to it til Monday as I have my daughter this weekend. View attachment 56471
Congratulations those kind of deals come around, but not always, my Vox Tone Lab was the same a buddy of mine gifted it to me because it doesn’t work as it’s supposed to, and after some stalled , price talks he just up and gave it to me.so years ago I owned a peavey 15 watt vyper vip series. I thought it was kinda cool but for its size I thought it was trying to do too much at once. What I mean is that it was designed so you can either plug an electric guitar in it, a semi electric acoustic, or a bass... it didn’t take bass too well, you really had to turn it down. Eventually what ended up happening is that the power would cut in and out. But this older version I haven’t seen anything bad, nothing mind blowing, but great as a free piece of gear. Very grateful!
Yea... I have to say... the whole “fang” thing they went for is pretty cheesy.... so I just may take that off. They also look more like a real amp if you "defang" them by taking plastic plate off - hope yours had no issues.
