New Video Trainwreck Amps

Cool, watching when the guy played..it just hit me what i like in amps..it has to have all the dynamics with my guitar vol & tone knob. If i can get 95% of what i need there for playing, before a stomp or anything added to the signal path..seem to be good to go. The keepers in the room all have a response to my playing.. the reason they made the cut was how they responded in a way.

Tend to change guitars & cab/speakers before altering the goodness of the amps natural circuit when seeking

Ken was my mentor. Ken had me service his modified Marshall's on the west coast I would fax him the voltage charts play the amps over the phone he would
send me the tubes that lasted until 9/11/2001 Alaska Airlines cut off my shipping account. Ken's last 72 hours faxed his life's work to our friend Jim.
Jim called me and asked what the hell was going on with Ken ?? later I found out that was the last thing Ken did in his life.

RIP Ken.

When I first heard of Trainwrecks, Glen Kuykendall had just released a cd of instrumental tracks (Can You Hear It Ring?) that were mostly done with a '59 Burst, old Gretsch Jet, and a Trainwreck. I've been trying to get my hands on a copy for ages, so I just watch him on the Toob. The video said there are no definitive recordings, however Glen has a bunch of stuff out there.

This is one of my favorite tracks he does.

Still need to learn more about these.

Yup... To Ken Fischer...

From the video: The man could use a phone and listen to an amp being played... and by listening, he then tells the guy over the phone "The power tubes screen resistor is the wrong value"!!!! Insane...

And what's with Cronic Fatigue Syndrom? How would this cause death?
Its an immune deficiency , sometimes called Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). It's more common in women than men but it wears you down in the daytime no matter how much you want to do something. But come night time, you cant sleep and suffer insomnia, so its like this vicious cycle making you almost a walking zombie. It usually wears heavy on the heart from lack of oxygen in the blood stream from not getting proper rest. It doesnt kill you itself but brings about ailments that will very easily. In Ken's case? Anyone's guess. Possibly heart related, especially if you look at how he was swelling up real bad near the end, thats usually a sign of congestive heart failure.

Just too bad its not a good topic unfortunately; hate that the dude dealt with that. Lots of people try to claim that these days to get disability, but they're usually really lazy from the onset. That show Hoarders and Hoarding: Buried Alive? Tons of them cite that illness. But they are just BSing, where as a guy like Ken Fischer would have no reasonable position on this earth to fake something like that. He tried like hell to keep making amps and creating new ideas for them, but got robbed of his energy and health and thats a crying shame

I don't even know how to begin to understand someone trying to fake being in that state. It's not a fun way to live. I've always been one for throwing the whole candle in the fire, because burning it at both ends is so passe. Working 8-12 hours a day, then playing music, building guitars, working on motorcycles, repairing stuff around the house, playing gigs, going to racing events, going to studios, practicing, going to the pub to shut brain off, and barely getting 4 -5 hours of sleep a night for decades all while trying to maintain a healthy marriage is no way to live a healthy life. Mentally, or physically.

I don't know how someone can fake this state of being. Especially, if they're lazy. Then they really have no clue.

Amen my friend! Life is what you make of it and its too damn short to sit and waste it, pretending to be suffering from a serious debilitating disease, masking the laziness beneath, because you lack simple drive and willpower.

I truly sympathize with anyone who is unfortunately disabled legitimately, because most folks who are, struggle internally as much as externally. They just want to be able to live their lives in a regular capacity, not to be bogged down by their own bodies and that has to be horrifying. For someone to just give up though and act like they are like this, is not only sad but its angering in that diminishes real disabled people's plight like Ken Fischer's for example.

For someone like you and others living the same way? I applaud ya, however. You pull a circus performer's act by juggling 30 things at once because it's not only what you gotta do but its from something inside you that's sadly being lost on this world: ambition. Ambition built this country and everything great this worlds ever made. World is in short supply of it

Do you happen to know Bob Gjika? Shot in the dark, but he was buddies with Ken as well.

Bob is a recent move into our neighborhood.
