I am with COL Mustard on our taste in SG's, I flat out LOVE Walnut colored SG Specials. If I hadn't already owned my LP back when these Firebrand's came out or even knew of them, I would have had the same GAS for them as we do now. Good score, bdon!!!!

Don, I got the notice that it was delivered yesterday and had planned to check with you today. So glad it got there in one piece and even happier that you are stoked. It's an incredible player, and just wait 'till you have a chance to really open up the amp with it. Congrats man.

This has been a target of mine for some time! Finally it has come to be!
Alright then....a little backstory: Back when I was first learning to suck at guitar, and music in general, a buddy’s dad had a natural/walnut version of this guitar. I was privileged to have laid hands on it a few times. It left a mark....the flat frets, the weird neck that felt soooooo comfortable....I’ve wanted to score one, but always felt that I didn’t deserve/want a collector’s piece...but a player...the right player. One that I wouldn’t regret actually using to its fullest capability. This guitar seems to fit that bill nicely. It is unique enough to be cool. It has battle scars. It has honest play-wear. It’s no case queen. Someone really liked actually playing this guitar, and I can see why.
Thank you @gball for passing this along to me! I will see that this guitar will be enjoyed, as it should be, for some time to come! I can see that I’m not the first person to find a sense of comfort in the neck of this guitar...it is really comfortable, and feels natural in hand!
It’s late though...and I can’t really crank it up tonight....or take a whole bunch of yummy pictures. I will start with these though:

The Well-Hung Ace of Spades strap seems to fit the vibe of this guitar:

More to come as I evaluate...
Oh yeah, it’s an early 80s(like 81-82) Gibson The SG Firebrand Deluxe. The electronics and truss rod cover are not original, but most everything else is.

Thank you sir! I’m happy to have possibly helped you with that gold top purchase too! A win/win in my book! It was a great pleasure doing this! Thank you again!
I’m checking out the wiring harness now!...pic’s to follow soon.:dood:

Taking a break from the crushing sounds of this beast...ummmmmm....I did have some fun though!

This rig sounds pretty darned good! Those three letter pickups will get a ride for a little while at least! Played some Sabbath, some Tool, some Rush, some originals, and a bunch of other stuff. It dials in nicely. The tone circuits certainly work! The tone knobs definitely cover a lot of range...they’re marked as 22s(the tone capacitors), and I’ve been using a 15 in the crescent moon V lately....so, a bit of a notable and nice change!
I took a few more pic’s outside...I’ll pick out a couple/few to post....
