This has been a target of mine for some time! Finally it has come to be!
Alright then....a little backstory: Back when I was first learning to suck at guitar, and music in general, a buddy’s dad had a natural/walnut version of this guitar. I was privileged to have laid hands on it a few times. It left a mark....the flat frets, the weird neck that felt soooooo comfortable....I’ve wanted to score one, but always felt that I didn’t deserve/want a collector’s piece...but a player...the right player. One that I wouldn’t regret actually using to its fullest capability. This guitar seems to fit that bill nicely. It is unique enough to be cool. It has battle scars. It has honest play-wear. It’s no case queen. Someone really liked actually playing this guitar, and I can see why.
Thank you @gball for passing this along to me! I will see that this guitar will be enjoyed, as it should be, for some time to come! I can see that I’m not the first person to find a sense of comfort in the neck of this guitar...it is really comfortable, and feels natural in hand!
It’s late though...and I can’t really crank it up tonight....or take a whole bunch of yummy pictures. I will start with these though:

The Well-Hung Ace of Spades strap seems to fit the vibe of this guitar:

More to come as I evaluate...
Oh yeah, it’s an early 80s(like 81-82) Gibson The SG Firebrand Deluxe. The electronics and truss rod cover are not original, but most everything else is.

Thank you @JohnnyGoo @Astral Traveler @Col Mustard @RVA @Don O @iblive @eSGEe @steveb63 @Mr Grumpy @Session 5 and @jtcnj ! What little quiet time I had with it last night was pleasant. It physically plays nicely. It arrived from its cross country journey nearly in tune...weird. I just gave it a wipe down, and a quick once over to check the usual spots for damage. Did a quick check of intonation, and plugged it in briefly for some low volume play. The neck is super pleasant to play, and the tuners(and nut) function well. The different switch position isn’t a bad thing...it feels fairly natural, even though it’s not. Oh, and it is a “gold burst” even though my late night cell phone pic’s make it look like a tobacco burst...funny...this gold burst came from @gball , and he suddenly has a really sweet gold top LP .

Lovely. The fretboard looks exceptional. Cool body and speedknobs. Interesting tuners (not fond of the Grover metal kidney tuners, your Gotohs are far nicer, imho). Extra flavour sauce with no pickup covers... The pickups should be interesting - you'll have to share with us how she sounds.

I had a looksee here: The "SG" / Firebrand

Thanks! I’m really happy with the tuning so far. The pickups, wiring harness, and speed knobs are not original. I’m going to have a look inside after my morning coffee.:)

Congrats, that is a soooo nice. Lawd, hope she is lovey dovey.
Great match for that awesome strap too!

What is this weird neck shape you speak of?
Thanks! I should have been clear about that neck shape comment...it was a comment from a 13 year old me...who’s experiences were very limited, and tightly budgeted, at the time. Most of my experience had been on an acoustic and a cheap Memphis Strat knock-off. I suppose a big part of my takeaway was how easy, and different, it was to play in comparison to what I had at hand.

I been hunting one of these for Col Mustard ( he wanted to get his hands on one of these too!!!!! :p:ROFLMAO::D

Yep! I had been looking for the right one for years...almost bought a husk from a chop-shop, but chickened out...I didn’t want to chance disappointment. Mine is essentially the “fancy finished” version of the one in that advert.
