Who is playing one??? I'm thinking about trying one. Since I've been doing a lot of Yngwie licks, I can see a big benefit to not making fretboard contact.

I can tell you that for some of these lightning fast runs, the scalloped effect would be a huge benefit.

I'm shopping for a neck...I kinda hate to buy a new USA Fender Stratocaster without trying it first....
Yep...I’ve been playing a Blackmore style scalloped Strat for about 20 years now. The scalloping starts at 5th fret on the high strings, moving to all 6 strings by around the 8th fret...
I slapped that neck on to give it a try, and never took it off. I liked it immediately.

Hey Robert, give a try to V picks, i really like them but they damn expensive so i only have 1 and its jazz 3 type one.
Would love to try all to see which is best for me. The one i have it glides on strings and also dose not slip out from hand if you sweat.

I don't like scalloped necks. I tryed some Ibanez from Steve Vai. Just It's not for me.

Always wanted to try a scalloped neck. Everything I read about it says that it does take time getting used to it, and if you aren’t used to it, of course it will actually slow you down, but once you do, it really helps with those lightning runs.
And yea, malmsteen is classical all the way, I’d have to basically relearn guitar to play anywhere similar to his style. One of my favorite instrumentals by him is “abandon” holy crap what a song!!
