Finally New Amp Day! Marshall JCM800 SC Blue

Just to compare, it is lighter than the 6100 navy blue. That's all I have to compare with. Again for a fast shot with no supplemental lighting, the TOP PANEL on cab would be approximate color, not the sides which have more light on them when comparing to the dark blue navy.
Whether the color is entirely right with camera profiles, whatever monitor or god forbid mobile device you look at them with, the comparative difference in color between the Navy from 6100 and this one does show here.

Well, the light areas where flash hits it are certainly darker. I could have used my big umbrella to spread the light more.
It is so hard to get right exactly. Settings on your monitor will greatly influence how you see the color. Exposure will change the color lighter and darker. It does look more intense under brighter light. Here it is today with a white card but I have both overhead lights and a window nearby so mixed lighting. Daylight coming in window to right is more blue, overheads are more yellow. If I make picture lighter or darker tolex changes hue.

Well, I really like the blue on your new amp rig that I see on my PC monitor and my mobile phone. Photography is frickin weird at times. I can't remember what film photography was like for reproducing accurate colors. But in this digital age, when I photograph 'purple'... it comes out 'blue'. When I photograph "blue", it's a crapshoot... :BH:

Yep. It's never right. Film was daylight balanced so unless the printing process could compensate it was never right with mixed lighting. Shoit slides n you were hooped. I tried my best there was still light coming in in addition to my flash. I even shot with a white card to set white balance. There are too many profiles after in software.
Adobe neutral is soooo dull! Camera profiles affect color amd contrast. Too many options.

Just a quick question for @Jethro Rocker

Do you ever use the lower sensitivity input?

My former bandmate always used his 800"s lower input in order to jack up the gain and volume. Always seemed he got his tone more "saturated" with that method?

Some food for thought as you're playing that new bad azz machine.

Congratulations again, more than just a little jealous Lol. In a good way.

I always have gain jacked and high sensitivity input both in the 4010 amd years ago the 2203. I could try low but I will be using an OD as well in the high so not sure how the low would be saturated enough for me. Unless it is because volume can go up? I am used to preamp overdrive distortion.
But I will sure try it, nothing like trying new things cause ya never know!
Cheers!

On my 2104 I tried the low sensitivity input one time, and it was just not to my expectations.
Cheers
