I've been wanting to try the VOX MV50 for a long time but they rarely surface onbthe used market, the ones that do arebusually too expensive. This one however turned up for $100 including the BC108 (1x8 dpeaker cabinet).

Seeing them on photos or on video it's hard to get a sense for how small they really are but man they are tiny, looks like some little dinky-toy!

If it sounds good the plannis to put it on my small, spare pedal board (currently unoccupied) together with a Boss Bluesdriver and a delay pedal. If the 1x8 can keep up with a band (we're not very loud) it would make for a really small and light rehearsal rig.

Nut Lube is so much better than Nutube though. I thinkbyou should pitch it to Vox

"The new and improved Vox MV50 MkII. Now with patented Nut Lube technology. This amp really brings the sauce!"

Or something like that.
The Vox MV50 MKII: Now with with Nut-Lube for that greasy, funky sound. Perfect for the player looking for a slippery lead style.

50% more lube than the leading brand. 50% Less chafing than the leading brand.

I've had the chance to try it a bit. The amp sounds great and really seems to love Deathtrap. The pickups onnthat guitar are pretty low in output and I can crank both guitar and amp and still stay completely clean,I get this nice sort of hollow Hendrixy sound.

What I guess surprised me the most was how full that little 8" speaker sounds, it sounds amazing. I doubt it will keep up with a band though, at 8 ohms the amp outputs 25 watts and through an 8" speaker that may not be enough. I can crank it in my small room and it gets uncomfortable but not much more. I did test the amp through my 1x12 with a Celestion Gold and that's certainly loud enough. It gdts even louder running the two cabs in parallel at 4 ohms with 50 watts of output. Using a 2x12 or a 4x12 it's definitely gigable I'd say.

I can't get over how small it is, I keep telling myself that size doesn't matter and this certainly gives me some hope...
