Rear Gear

So, IF you sit when you play, what do you sit on? Right now I sit in an armless office chair, but I was looking at drafting table chairs. I sit long enough that I need a back rest. Please share your choices to sit and strum!

I have 2 like this Ray, one for home , and one for the trailer a $20 dollar special. I like the back because its fairly high and comfortable on the back. The chair part is comfortable enough to sit on and play for 2 hours. It also folds up, so its convenient for storage, I've been using them for the past three years and do the job for me.DSC00580.JPG

I bought this 20+ years ago. My “requirements” were:

very padded seat and back
cloth for breathing
360 swivel with no spring return - it stays where ever you stop
wide flat wood foot rest (no round metal bar) - play barefoot a lot
foot rest must hold my weight
very stable

Don’t remember where I bought it, but a few years ago I wanted to buy a few more for a bistro table. I couldn’t find anything close to this design.

Have one just like this in a different color. Way easier to get off a chair than the floor.

My seat is my ass on the floor or standing honestly lol never felt comfortable playing in a chair. Sometimes i sit on the couch and play thru my headphones and an IRigUA if its late and the kids are sleeping. But most of the time Im standing cause it feels natural to me or occasionally, i sit cross legged in the floor ( kinda like Johan Segeborn does oddly enough)

I only have two small problems with that. One is getting down there, the second and much more serious, is getting back up again...
I get that. I've always done it that way, but in recent times, it is getting more difficult to get back up. But the way my lower back is; no disks in L4, L5, and S1, sitting that way stretches that area of my lower back, and actually feels good for a short while.
