Ive actually gotten to witness a real live Wall of Death like this a couple of times believe it or not lol 2007 Ozzfest during Lamb of God and again in 2009 Mayhemfest during Cannibal Corpse. It was absolutely insane to see.
Over the years, ive stumbled into quite a few mosh pits unwittingly. I dont mind the slamming around into each other bit if its kept like a good old mosh should be. But the fists and kicks? Nope. Despite my age, im pretty old school on that stuff: if someone comes running at me with fists and kicks, ill coldcock em dead in their tracks AND have ( Ozzfest 2005, me and 2 buddies laid out a handful of what looked like teens during a Mastadon set when i was trying to drink a beer and a mosh broke out as we were in the middle. Some emo 16 year olds came with fists clenched and it was lights out lmao)
But it is funny to watch

Got kicked in the head at LoG, nothing I could do about it.
One of the more cool things I saw was one dude being a dick to a couple other dudes behind him, he was wanting to fight and stuff....the other two dudes just looked at each other briefly, and then they both just picked the dickhead up and tossed him over the barricade lol!
Also, did you say Mastodon?! Lol
Met them a couple times, played guitar with Billy K once too. Cool dudes.
I also got them all to deface my silverburst V, and the original white pickguard on my Gibby Explorer too....plus some other goodies. Had a great time and had it not been for covid I was planning on hanging out with them this year too, and I wanted to play with Brent a little bit....maybe next year I guess

Only bands i ever got to meet was 3 inches of Blood and In Flames (Got a signed drum head by them). Super nice Swedes lol
