Things we do

Kudos Mitch, You are da Man when it comes to good hard carpenter, builder work.

SG JOHN just cooks my noodle at all the Gizmo knowledge he has to handle.
Looks like we have quite the crowd of hard workin fellas for sure. Vox AC30 is like me and Mitch, construction wise. Here's to everyone who puts in the time to do all they can to make ends meet.
Thanks Chili we do tend to get things done buddy.
Cheers

One of my old bosses rebuilt his kitchen in the winter when we were slow. He thought carpenters were hacks, and decided to build the kitchen to machinist tolerances instead of the 1/8" to 1/4" used by carpenters. The first humid day in March, he had to bust apart everything with a sledge hammer and start over because everything was sealed tight.
:pound-hand:

Perfection is the enemy of good enough.

That was one of my mottos at work.

not sure about the Nm's Dono, but my tape reads to 1/16ths. But my eye used to read to 32 nds and sometimes 64ths with a sharp pencil.

Nanometer. When making integrated circuits it’s the unit of measure for the process node, which means that’s the smallest width of a trace of metal connecting 2 points on a piece of silicon.

“The nanometre (international spelling as used by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures; SI symbol: nm) or nanometer (American spelling) is a unit of length in the metric system, equal to one billionth (short scale) of a metre (0.000000001 m).”

Some carpenters are hacks. BUT if a building has fully functioning Doors and Windows and features that operate as they should for years and decades and LAST without having to replace stuff from being cheap or from poor installation, the carpenter/mason/ electrician/plumber was not on the Hack list.

Too funny about machinist tolerances in a carpentry endeavor,,,,,,,,,, unless we are talking furniture grade+ trim artistry type stuff.

Still operating the transmission power grid in North Georgia. It's been a busy time of year with all the hurricanes in the fall and later this year, and all the substation and line departments trying to spend up all the money bugeted for this year or lose it for next year.
I can't complain...I love what I do and still getting paid. I feel luckier than a lot of other people in the USA.
My company has kept a roof over my head and food on the table for over 40 years. (and guitars under my fingers)
