Helping Out With Strange DSL40C Problem:

They are lucky to have you keeping the amps in functional order, a lot of people don't give the amplifier a thought at all until it stops working (or even worse, the genie comes out of it). Cheers
True. A simple cleaning and check over goes a long way on an amp. You give your vehicle oil changes, tire pressure checks, air filter replacement, belt changes etc because its basic maintenance. Why wouldnt one do the same simple maintenance checks with an amplifier that works itself like a mule?

Exactly,,, well said. Occasionally blowing the dust etc out, a few shots of contact cleaner, that sort of thing,,, takes very little time & keeps your amp happy.
I'll tell you one of the most common complaints I see that could be prevented by doing this sort of maintenance,,,,
"My amp has started acting up sometimes. It was fine, but now it's started making staticy noises, along with very low volume."
The problem, bad/dirty contacts in the FX loop's (switching) jack sockets. Easily preventable with maintenance. Cheers

Well I will be saving this thread. Wealth of info in you guys :) I still miss my JCM2000 DSL50H, I am digging my 20 so far. I need to swap speakers around to my 2x12 so I can get it connected to it. Anyway I came to say the JCM800 had that issue on the red channel.

I got a 98 JCM2000 DSL50 that I wouldnt part with for any amount of money honestly. I truly believe its THAT great of an amp and though i mess around with others, i always go back to it in the end
