that DARN Ringo ----

Ringo is the butt of a lot of jokes against his other 3 bandmates. But the guy is talented, no questions asked. He has 2 really cool distinctions in particular to his name: he is often credited for helping craft what is arguably the first heavy metal song with Helter Skelter and his bombastic drumming as the centerpiece.

And in the solo game, he beat John Lennon with not one but two first 1# singles in 1973 and 1974 with "Photograph" ( co-written with George Harrison) and "You're Sixteen".

There was a drummer joke going around back in the 60s:

A letter, addressed "To the world's greatest drummer" arrives at the home of Louie Bellson.
He takes one look at it, and says, "well, this is obviously not for me," and forwards it to Gene Krupa.

Krupa also takes one look at it and says, "well, this is obviously not for me," and he forwards it as well.
The letter makes the rounds of famous drummers' homes, until it finally winds up at the home of Buddy Rich.
Buddy takes one look at it, and says, "well, this is obviously for me," rips it open, and reads:
"Dear Ringo...."

Have you ever got to hear the hidden audio tapes of Buddy Rich absolutely ripping his band apart on a tour bus for screwing up? Its hilarious and epic lol
