Ive only ever played a few basses, namely Fender Precision and Jazz , an old Guild B-301 and a Jackson Kelly my old bassist had. But theres a few Id gladly own and mess around with. Gibson EB-3, Thunderbird and Grabber, Fender Precision and Jazz, Rickenbacker 4003 or an Alembic Stanley Clark namely

It will develop your ear! The last 7 years have been a life changing milestone in my 42 years of playing bass! I recommend at least trying a fretless to all bassists! Nothing else like it in the known universe :dood:Im sure you can -- if I can -- YOU CAN
It’s not so bad...forces you to listen to what you’re playing...but it’s not crazy evil. (Says the guy that doesn’t own one...yet.) I want one...just looking for the right one...I think I’ve laid hands on it, but didn’t pull the trigger....fail.

C'mon, even Alan Partridge can play fretless (air) bass!
At college I did a partial de-fret for someone (can't remember what bass).
He asked me to remove all the frets above the 12th and replace them with slivers of maple veneer (in a rosewood fretboard).
The guy must have liked the results 'coz he never asked me to reverse the mod.

Bass ain’t for everyone. Personally, my guitar playing sucks swamp water, but it keeps my bass playing from getting stagnant.I'm just venting because I suck at playing bass.
