ROUNDUP of OTHER GUITARS. Homage to Hidden Gems

DONO, I SHOULD Have sold you that SG Classic. It would never be lonely with all your Stringed friends. Now it feels kind of like the proud poppa of all it's babies that I have instead. Soon to be welcoming a NGD of a White Washburn HB 30 if all goes well.

YAY Takamine,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and old ones too. Those dates was when I had my first guitar lessons, on a terrible high action Yamaha rental

Well congrats on the HB 30. I would have scooped that up on a heartbeat if I didn’t already have the HB-35S.

DONO, UPS had other Karma going on that basically made a 2 strike dead end scenario, and had I tried a third time, I felt something was telling me, get the hint, SOMETHING bad is going to happen on Strike 3.

Since this thread is about rare gems, i figured this might be one of the rarest: Jimi Hendrix's actual 67 Flying V he had custom made. Somewhere at my parent's house, i have a picture of me actually holding it. The Hard Rock Cafe in London has the famous Vault under the gift shop and until about 2007, they let guests actually hold the guitars and take a photo. The insurance company nailed them though and that is no longer practiced. But in 2005, I managed to actually hold that and Zakk Wyldes original Bullseye Les Paul. I will try to get those photos from my folks this week but heres two photos of the Flying V when i was there in 2008 and 2010FB_IMG_1606620300414.jpgFB_IMG_1606620253251.jpg

I was there in the late nineties, and it was with a bunch of his stage clothes. They didn't let you pose with it, otherwise I would have.

I was in sort of disbelief really. My folks had went over there the year before in 2004 and dad comes home with photos of him holding the V and Keith Richards White SG Custom, while sitting on a couch taken from Hendrix's apartment. I was like " Bullshit!" but then i seen the info tags and knew it was real. When i went the very next year, i made sure I went straight to there on day one and sure enough, got to hold it. I was a nervous wreck and praying to god i didnt do something stupid while holding it lol.

But i went back in 2008 with my wife and they had stopped that altogether. They had a couple guitars you could take a pic with but they werent really iconic or as valuable. Like a Fernandes signed by Tony Iommi and one of Gene Simmons's Kramer Axe Basses he had signed. There was Sting's P Bass and they all were out on the floor and not in the cases like others were.
