Platypi Glows Teal

The Platypus is actually a monotreme, and shares that category with 1 other animal, the Echidna if my memory serves me well.

I had an amp with a treme, but it was adjustable. We've had a Echidna problem here for some time.

Echidna, (Greek: “Snake”) monster of Greek mythology, half woman, half serpent. Her parents were either the sea deities Phorcys and Ceto (according to Hesiod's Theogony) or Tartarus and Gaia (in the account of the mythographer Apollodorus); in Hesiod, Tartarus and Gaia are the parents of Echidna's husband, Typhon.

Echidnas, sometimes known as cute spiny anteaters, belong to the family Tachyglossidae in the monotreme order of the cutest egg-laying mammals. The four extant species of echidnas and the platypus are the only living mammals that lay eggs and the only cute / adorable surviving members of the order Monotremata.

So how do you explain this?
Armadillos are not mammals? Armadillos don't lay eggs?
Are we not men?
At this point, I think we could all use some armadillo sensitivity training.
Look how cute they are. Must be an all too often neglected member of Monotremata?

Armadillo by Morning ......up from San Anton...er.........oh wait.....never mind

Oh well nesting areas can be interesting -- LIKE when the GOATS live/play/frolic in the TREES.... and the birds wonder round on the ground

that was our female Millie ----
Goats do love to climb in trees.
Chickens can fly also, although they are seldom given the credit.
Goats do not lay eggs but chickens do.
See how this all ties together?

I have Chickens that fly into trees and over fences to get in neighbors yards.......they are generally lazy bastards but can fly (as can turkeys) -- well mine can not the processed ones at Jeenie-O ---

goats cant fly --without assistance-- but they will eat an egg ----and coffee tables.................
this is Maverick -- he was Millies "boy friend" -- was actually quite the BUCK -- but he got "aggressive" so he went to live at a larger farm in North Lakeland with MANY MANY goats

to be clear the TREE used to be upright Hurricane Irma Flattened it and took out 3 other HUGE oaks on the property ...... sad

See?
I try to tell people chickens can fly, but they don't believe it.
I have seen chickens flying.
I know for a fact they do fly, but usually short distances. I have never seen a chicken fly long distance that's for damn sure.
They don't migrate to south America, on that you could be certain.

Now Penguins, that's a different subject.

we have a 7 ft fence around the "dog" quadrant of the yard................and the "farm" quadrant of the yard -- and I can tell you CHICKENS CAN FLY OVER A 7 FT fence! and up into the limbs of a mulberry tree at least 10 to 12 ft high .............from the ground to the ROOF OF THE HOUSE-- .etc etc

Do Echidna (spiny ant eaters) only live in Australia?
I know that Platypus is strictly Australian. Perhaps New Zealand...
I suspect that both of these are Australian mammals (monotreme) exclusively?

But it is troublesome that Armadillos are mammals, do lay eggs, but are not monotreme.
Now that's the part that remains mysterious...
Do we have members that specialize in biologic / genetic zoology? It would be helpful.

I LOVE GOATS
Goats are cute little buggers, they DO chip in on beer. Generally friendly to metal bands and anteaters, they prefer to live in goat communities and nest in trees.
This frees up ground nesting space for chickens and their rehearsal crews...
During the summer months, goats climb down from hibernation to begin foraging and nibbling about in the forest.

As far as I know Echidnas are only found in Australia. They are probably up north as well through the islands of the Torres Strait, but I’m not sure about that.
The other factor that determining factor whether a mammal is a monotreme is that babies are fed milk from their mothers.

I’m reading armadillos give birth to live young? But, like George Washington said “don’t believe everything you read on the internets”
