Injuries

Sitting, I opt to use the classical guitar position, puts the hand and wrist in a more natural state, but still, depending on what chords you use, up to 5 hours can start to wear on your wrists. I usually give it a few days break after long recording sessions before I pick up my guitars again.
I wish I could get used to that; over this 4 day Holiday I will spend more time with it.
The typical seated feels like I am reaching way around to my right, makes my right shoulder sore (2 surgeries), and the guitar wants to roll back behind me.

Not sure if its from playing but , i have pain on my left side on my fretting hand side. When i practice i go full force at it, like in lord of the rings when army facing other army and scream chaaaaaaaargggggeee!!! :)

this photo is after practice

I didn't start doing it til I got a V guitar, then i found it REALLY comfortable and will do it even with my super strats. To me it helps to also have a strap to kinda help keep it tethered to you so it doesn't feel like it will slide off your lap.

Since I’m officially an old stinker now, I’ve found the need to actually warm up a bit before I get as serious as I ever get playing. And believe me. I do some pretty simple stuff compared to a lot of you guys here. While I don’t do any real warm up exercises. I do tend to do some notes up and down the frets and some relatively easy on the fingers chords to get limbered up.

Hopefully you just strained something and giving it a day or two to heal is all you need.
