The guy says it needs pickups but is selling for $50

was an example of what can be had --- yes -- Im not buying a bass from Japan
not when I can snag this one for under 2 bills ------ just an hour from me

or look at this SHREDDER from the 80's for mega cheap

what Im pointing out is the Aria Pro stuff (at least the 80's era) can be snagged for DAMN CHEAP but its well made precision engineered GOOD kit for the $

Precision Engineered you say, this one is, good tones from this one too.
American Jazz musician and bandleader Ben Allison plays upright acoustic bass as he perfromsn during the 11hour 'Wall to Wall John Coltrane' marathon...

@Hackmaster --check it out a POINTY ARIA Pro URCHIN

I hate to admit it, but I had one of them. Mine had mini toggles to split, phase, and such....
edit: just like this one....
the neck was too uncomfortable for me over time.

S5, I surmise you jest by posting this pic of the Double bass, If not, I understand. BUT I will say, I really kind of have admiration and appreciate the tone and sound one of these makes. It is unlike anything I hear in the electrified and amp'd world in the bottom end.
