Now that I'm in Texas, there are certain observations:
Everything in Texas is bigger, including this beer. Damn the beer is big.
In Texas, they like butter.
There is butter on my steak. It comes pre-buttered from the kitchen.
Not even one single mention of A-1 steak sauce....or any other steak sauce.
In DFW, there is NO Lone Star Beer. (somewhat of a disappointment)
At least I have not located the Lone Star.
3. Not much else has changed. It's still Texas. Except, it's bigger.
More updates as the story develops....

What do they do in Indiana? I'm going to find out tomorrow.

I spent some time in Texas once. I find your observations to be true. Butter on a steak can be awesome though, I've been known to do this way up in the PNW too at times. Especially if it's a garlic and herb butter or similar....I'll brush it on while it cooks and then maybe leave a dollop more on it as it rests. Can't say I've ever been to Indiana.

There's one more thing:
Every time I sneak outside for a cigarette, I have to take my shoes off to come back in.
Very strange customs in Texas. How odd.

Funny you mention the Texas steak approach.

Apparently steak without sauce is the right way to eat it if you prepare it correctly. I was quite shocked to discover that a few years back and being given a properly made steak for the first time ever at Knight's SteakHouse in Ann Arbor Michigan, i totally understood what i had been missing and only eat it like that now. Butter is the secret weapon when you cook it, in its last stages because it seals in all the juices and gives it that fine steak appearance and flavor like you get in a good restaurant and not the average poop ball joints.

If a steak is mostly done right, ill eat it as is but if its off, i use Worcestershire sauce only to liven it up these days

I began copying this ultra simple instruction , step by step from Gordon Ramsay on how to cook a steak and now, my wife has been effectively kicked out of the kitchen on steak night and i handle the duties lol

Odd you say hmmm Canadians also have this custom. Do you realize how much bacteria and other crap are on the bottom of your shoes. I know I don't want all that outside mess from my shoes tracked through my home.;) Just saying.

It was TSA that made me take my shoes off every time I walked into the airport....
But Hawaiian custom and
all this last year I have been spraying bleach solution on the bottom of my shoes to sterilize, every time I came back from a public place.
1/3 cup Clorox to 1 gallon of water, as per CDC recommendations.

Uh....I don't have the slightest idear what that actually means.

Cheers, AMS

Onward, ho!
When you walk into an airport, you take your shoes off...and they get X ray.
Then I empty out my pockets, wallet, hat, pen, change, put my coat and hoodie on the X ray machine.
Then my carry-on laptop is also X ray.
Then you stand in this scanner machine, put your arms above your head, and they scan you too.

So, imagine having to do this every time you go outside and come back...it gets old quick.

Indiana?
Perhaps for a last dance with Mary Jane?

"She grew up in an Indiana town
Had a good-lookin' mama who never was around
But she grew up tall and she grew up right
With them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights "

But, wise man say: "If you wear no shoes, you will not be asked to take them off".
Although to wear no shoes in the cold climes or through most airports, would be .... quite a feat.

AMS is on a world tour... :woohoo:
I expected "a warehouse." I was very wrong.
Sweetwater:
This place is fking HUGE, you don't realize how huge it is. It's fking gigantic.
It's as big as a city. I :poo: you not.
It's bigger than a full sized shopping mall - just the music store itself is " a shopping mall."
3000 space parking lot.
1500 employees.
2 fully staffed dining rooms, chefs, including a bakery. A medical clinic with a full time doctor on site.
13 people verifying / testing customer returns, 7 bench techs.

And it's freezing cold out here. Jeeeeeesus.

Are you going to work for them?

Are you going to work for them?
If they appreciate me yes.
But the problem is it's fucinhg freezing cold outside.
I worked with the technical staff today, we repaired a whole :poo: pile of gear.
A Midas X 34 digital mixer, a Fender Twin, A 5150 EVH amp, A QSC powered speaker, and a bunch of other stuff.

I found the tech staff to be friendly and fun to work with.
They were very nice people I enjoyed it. They have been generous and outgoing with me, they bought me lunch, they paid for the car and hotel...
