not sure if its still available but WOW!

sense an Orange shopping spree in the near future tho..trying to set the room up before retirement. Then finding 1966 Chevelle big block convertable & taking it apart bolt by bolt & putting it back together..my real dream job.

DIBS!!! on the DC5! I know you didn’t mention it....so....I had to.
NO Mesa's leave !! looking at the iv & V yet ..then the game has to end. When i retire the amp game is over cause can go down to the bandroom finally & get some work done on a car & putting a band together. Not real fond anymore of sitting in the house all day & going to Dr appointments & the public calling every few minutes every minute i am awake. Pushed to the max for sure. Soon over

Has anyone ever read up on Howard Dumble er I mean " Alexander"? Not bashing his quality and expertise but the guy just sounds like a miserable person and I couldnt have imagined commissioning him in the 80s to build an amp as he had tenets you abided by or forfeit your deposit:

  • Never ask about the progress of your amplifier. If you do, I will stop building it.
  • If you piss me off, I may keep your deposit and never build your amplifier.
  • You cannot come to my shop and watch your amplifier being built. Come by my shop unannounced and I will:
  1. a) Stop building it
  2. b) Keep your deposit.

By the way, calling him by his given name of Howard even mistakenly, often qualified as "pissing him off" and forfeiture of deposit. He even once kinda famously told a potential customer a few years back, that he couldnt be bothered to building an amp for him because professional musicians and recording artists needed his tech and they were priority, despite him making about 3 amps a year still today.

I mean c'mon man, he might be legendary but isnt a god by any stretch. If someone forked $4000 in the 1980s ( the going rate) id definitely would want to know i wasn't getting burned when its taking the guy nearly a year or longer to make the amp, hand built or not.

He kinda came off a bit off-putting to the general consumer
