What a sexy bottom end this thing has. hard to believe this is a 15 watt el84 amp. Took more time than ever before on this Orange thing.

Wanted classic Orange more than anything, It is so organic & responds so well. Every mini movement on any knob takes you somewhere. A rare occasion happened .. it is loud dimed, had to back it down a bit.. Also the Orange cab w/ k100's..it was instant match. The 50 cal+ & it can run together in the cab for the wall off doom. Yes it does modern gain well also. Very revealing in guitar changes also. I could see where on single 12 where one would be a lil underwhelmed but on the big cab--instant amp. k100's real tight & v30's match but not as clear. Black Shadow nice-leans classic. Greenback def throws the amp back. Lots of shades of Orange in this thing.

If you have a bass cab that will run safely with it....I recommend trying it out for some doom bass;)

Have SVT fridge & 15. I can hear the Overdriven madness already !! Thanks..this is what friends are for !!

I am going to laugh if i go stoner/doom.. a singer responded to me today & he is a doomer but wants to do positive message doom..I can grasp that...Die Die die..but i love you !! Die Die Die...roll one up before we did die die.

can a non stoner do stoner? lol

78 The Paul-t bucker..very nice, brings in the 70's vibe but if you take gain up it gets real tight or roll back guitar vol-nice & bluesy

Epi V- PAF Masters..think this will be the match. pretty much was able to set the amp & just mess with guitar knobs for endless attack options. they are a hair hotter but retain a fullness. nice push type humbucker without leaving the lower passive realm

Fender Duo-h/s..had to see, it cops the classic fender tone, very fat blues tone available & super nice clean up for chord work

Gibson SG mini's in drop C, just fun..deeper, full still not fizzed out, nice tight drop tune set up

Gibson Lp in C#. mini SD/p90 very interesting cause the tone variation off the guitar knobs is vast.

What seem to be hearing is a fullness in the lows but not boomy..like a healthy 2203 ..a nice tight thump that is filling as the volume cmes up but not overbearing but a punch when you dig...just trying to figure out how they did it in this circuit with el84's at 15 watts

had the 2204 on at same time..these 2 combine real nice for southern rocky type..the 2204 sit a lil above the OR14 with 2 very distinct mid positions..OR15 being deeper actually

then the 50 cal+ & OR15 this combination is just full from top to bottom. The 50 Cal+ is the Marshall zone was searching for & then some. Its a very dif mesa in the mids even compared to the amps they made at same time. On greenbacks it can go there

Been looking for an amp to sit in front of & create with just the guitar. With the k100's the amp is spitting out its circuit design pretty clear, very articulate. Much more so than speakers that color. If anything HP8 k100 & Mesa halfback with Black shadows..they both reveal an amps true circuit without coloring so much. Taking time to match the amps to cab & speaker has benefited way more than anything probably have ever done. I bet many an amp were tossed cause of bad cab match up. def know i have been guilty of that !!

OR15 is the same amp as tiny terror, with an effects loop added.
I found that 7 watts was enough to make my ears ring...it really wasn't necessary to use the 15 watt setting.
It has a nice crunch, good sustain, and it cleans up pretty good with the guitar volume.
The Orange cabinet is also crispy, I liked the whole thing.
It made me want to just crunch a bunch, and I didn't want to put it down. I crunched on and on. til my ears were wiped.

@Amp Mad Scientist came across your comments on MF when i was researching.. saw your love for the amp..you are pretty strait forward in info about amps from the tech side i do not know. Figured if you gave it a favorable review, kinda kicked me over the edge.
People laugh at 15 watts but they don't realize how loud it is. It's loud enough to play with a drummer/bass player.
It goes by the theory that a low watt amp sounds better fully cranked up - compared to a 50 / 100W turned down low.
And it has that outrageous British snarl kind of sounds like a cranked Plexi just not as loud thankfully.
Yeah I like that amp a lot.

Up above is spot on what AMS wrote..I just a/b/c OR15, Mesa 50cal+ & 2204

The Orange has SOUL !! from blues to metal in the volume & gain sweep

my new conclusion..the small amp into the bigger cab is very much at the cusp of being right on..driving the amp,.,letting a proper cab fill in better..much fuller sounding with OR15 wound up ..much more touch dynamics..vs bringnig big iron down

I love my amps but maybe the best tone improvement was getting the 4x12's ..dif speakers dif sizes. started with the Mesa DC el84..heard an edge of break up quicker but the single 12..very good but soon as it went on a 4x12..completely dif amp.

The natural next step was to figure out how to fill it in with what i had on hand. Bring up the bottom..clear but with authority..No single speaker cab could deliver the big amp feel & sound that i must have for the music. Up on the 4x12 was instant everything..

pretty crazy but here is where i arrived setting wise. Plenty of volume left if needed but it is very full very close to where i normally play & again it has an 800 2203 deepness..ran a lot of comparisons today, it's very full sound & just messing with guitar knobs, so much touch response & dynamics. Spent some time watching the builder of the amps. he explains the why & how if you listen. He is very into making his amps with little flare but massive tonal adjustment capability within the sweep. True test coming up..scraping whats in reaper for now & record what this amp gives me today as i explore it..catch a verse & progression & make a song..shoot fr tomorrow to be done. got this thing today goin on need to take care of out back..called..leaves.
