I could almost guarantee that this is that sound you are desperately seeking bro.
Maybe you & Momz can work something out? Hey remember, ya never know until you ask & you certainly have nothing to loose by bringing the subject up & being open to the possibilities, even if it is her simply letting you 'use' it for a while!

Seek & Ye shall find, Ask & Ye shall receive.

My man.

I would never ask Mom for it. She grew up with nothing and this was a gift...but it does have a sweet sound...

Give Mom a big hug & kiss from us boys !

Make sure you tell her how much I like her 79 Custom.

Natalie with the 1959 Silvertone.....getting a lesson from my Mom....who is demonstrating on Natalie's new Wine Red Squirecaster.

Natalie's reaction to hitting her first perfectly-fretted open "G" on the Gibson SG...she was so surprised at the tone that she jerked her hands away from it and smiled...

Who needs all them squeaky girly notes above Bb anyway? :pound-hand:

And why must you taunt me with that 79 beauty Queen of a Custom!???

There is one think about these guitars that you do not get in any re-issue!

Hey, Man...

The old Custom is a fabulous player, but it's really beat up. Needs a good cleanup and restring. We estimated the strings on it are at least 10 years old. One thing that really stands out os the volume when switching pickups - there is no change at all - totally balanced... :-)

So, we played them all...the old Don Rich Telecaster, the 1979 Custom, the 1959 Silvertone, the 2016 Squirecaster and the 2016 Gibson SG.

Everyone said the 1979 Custom sounded the best, but all agreed the 2016 Gibson SG was the most playable, comfortable and easiest to fret notes on...

Wild Rose Band photo shoot - May, 1983....standing in front of one of the ranch trucks...a 1959....Can you guess???
