Adam Jones LPC

I did see the Custom Shop version was $10,000.00. I thought the cherry burst were ugly until I owned one.
The silver burst takes the cake as the ugly duckling.

They're all Custom Shop (all Les Paul Customs are made in the Custom Shop) but the $10k version is the one that's signed and numbered. Not really interested in that even though it will be more collectible downstream. Silverburst has always been a polarizing finish: Some, like myself, think it's the coolest paint job ever put on a guitar and others find it awful. That's actually one of the things I like about them.

According to Adam Jones himself, he swears that the silverburst paint adds to the sound and harmonics. Dont know if theres any science to back that one up, but hey, he makes it roar!

I've heard him say that stuff and always figured it was tongue-and-cheek since everyone was always trying to figure out the "secrets" of his tone. Having owned a number of Norlin-Era Customs over the years, including the Silverburst, I can't say if the finish adds anything to the tone but there is something special about them that sets them apart from other Customs, can't quite put my finger on it. One thing that's for sure is the paint makes the clear coat yellow differently than the regular finishes, hence the term Snotburst, and I've noticed that the Silverburst collectors tend to favor the ones that have gone really yellow-orange over time.

Why not this one the price is right.

Oh, its nice and the price is definitely right. My main thing though isn't even the Adam Jones connection, although that's a bonus for the collectibility, it's that they (Gibson) have done very, very few close-to-accurate reissues of Norlin-Era Les Pauls. They're my favorite LPs of all time, due primarily to the 3-piece maple neck with 14-degree peghead and volute. They feel/respond/sound different than hog-necked LPs and to me the difference is preferable.

I own the first run LPC LE 1972 Gibson 1954 RI. Offered $15K for it last week thinking about it.
I thought that with the world wide crash guitars would drop in value how wrong I was.

I gotta wonder if it's just that people want to park their money in what look like solid longer-term investments. That's why I'm thinking about that Les Paul, and I might buy a couple watches since the market is pretty volatile right now and the economy looks ready to implode. Same reason the housing market is blowing up right now.

I just bought another house in Florida. Houses were coming on the market and then under contract within 24 hours!

My wife and I are moving to San Diego and its the same problem. There are bidding wars on each and every property and we don't want to overpay, so we are losing out on a lot of them. I am actually thinking of just renting for a while and keeping an eye on the market until things settle down.

Kinda in the same boat. We've lived at our home, which was a starter, for 10 years now. We never planned to make this a forever house, as back then it was just her and I. But we've had two kids in the past 6 years and its becoming painfully clear we need to upsize a bit.

But the housing market in WV is an absolutely abysmal joke. Everything reasonably priced is going to automatically knock you back $30-35k in basic renovations and you're going to be on top of each surrounding neighbor. If its something you love? You'll pay nearly twice the realistic pricing. So, we're at a standstill

Thing is, we already sold our house and we're in a short-term (month to month) rental at the moment, so we gotta poop or get off the pot. If we end up just having to rent down there for a period of time then so be it, but our agent is confident she will have some movement in November that should work in our favor.

We found a kick @ss realtor and she got us a place a little below asking. It's only 3 years old and in a fantastic area. There's a community pool and gym, low HOA and super convenient location.
The only compromise we had to make was letting the previous owner take her washer and dryer and we didn't expect that to come with the house anyway!

My youngest daughter is living in the place while they are stationed in Jacksonville. We hope to sell for a profit, but who knows?
