Spec sheet says EMG's can handle 27 volts. Lots of guys using 18 volts, but I saw a dude making a 24 volt battery pack that drops right into any EMG equipped guitar.
Hmmmmm.....
Hmmmmm.....
You gonna try it ?
It's all about cold cranking amps...Nice...make my guitar as heavy as a Les Paul, why dontcha!!!!

I could be wrong. But wasn’t that mod supposed to just open up more headroom on the pickups so you can kinda treat it like a passive as far as using the volume knob to manipulate the tone?
LOL!! Well when you do get the kit installed, give it a try. But to be fair, that’s why I got the emg x series installed into my JacksonI'm not sure...got a kit coming just for the hell of it...LOL

nope they are active, they just lowered the output a bit to give it more head room so you can treat it like a passive. the classic emg's if you lower the volume, all you do is lower the decibels, however they still sound like they are cranked. with the x series as you lower the volume you can actually color the tone, they become less harsh and mellow out. crank them back up and you get your 81-85 tone again.X Series is passive???

I love how my EMG's sound in my 2019 Schecter. Its an 81TW/85.
Nice!! Always did love the 81-85 set up myself
Agreed...
The 81TW is actually two single coils, so when you split it, it's not really a coil split, but actually a single coil...
oh really cool!! Although to be honest, I’ve never really use coil split. I guess it’s nice to have if I want a single coil sound, but I almost never use it.
Ohh I gotcha.Me neither, but I found it really useful on some songs. It gives a brighter, edgier tone, but without the volume drop.
