A $5,000.00 Pedal:

IMHO I think the cranked tube amp by itself sounds better.
$5 grand for a $75 pedal is ludicrous. Ibanez tube screamer has gone much the same...
For some reason people actually think that these pedals make their playing better than it is (apparently).
But what it comes down to is: "can you play guitar?" No pedal fixes that problem.

Hilarious video lmao

But yeah that guy from Music Is Win, Tyler Larson? Hes a really good guitarist but i dont like his attitude, pretty much born with a silver spoon and thinks a lil higher of himself than he really is. I could see a guy like him shelling out $5k of youtube and sponsorship money

Anything that "varies" between them to my ear could be "made up for" at the guitar or the amp EQ........and SAVE A TON OF $$$$

But then you dont get the EGO SWELL and "bragging rights" of saying you spent a "X" on 1 pedal

you also now have a pedal that EVERY ROADIE THIEF in the world WATCHES FOR you have to protect with your life and pray it doesnt get broken.....stolen.....etc.

Seems any EASY choice --- but some folks live for name brand ---

Does anyone offer "pedal insurance"? --- might need to look into it if you have a Klon

Im playing a KLON right now--- through a DUMBLE Special OVERDRIVE----whole rig cost me 140.00--- and look at all them other models, profiles, fakes plus 3 more pages of them .................enough to keep one busy for years--Fenders VOXs Dumbles Diesels Marshalls Mesas.................................

notice a Klon has 3 knobs.....my model has 6-- so its "gooderer" ............with more precise tonal variation-- and stuff......

Amazing how far and how cheap that technology has become

I remember seeing ads for the "new Line 6 AxSys212" back in the mid 90s in Guitar World and it showed a room full of gear and then this 2x12 combo for about $1200. That was the very first amp modeler and it was revolutionary for the time, but fast foward about 25 years and software and technology itself has made leaps and bounds. Its become nearly impossible to tell the difference in a recorded setting from A or B. And you dont have to spend a fortune, with some of the programs even being free

There are times when I've been playing and my mind does the math quickly and for a moment I am shocked at the total investment in the gear I am playing through at that moment, but it's one of only two hobbies I have and in the end my friends that play golf spend a hell of a lot more on that than I do on guitars and watches.

I hear you gball, I spend and have spent much much more on this, than I will ever spend on guitar gear.DSCI0249.JPG
