Definitely not for everyone. I love my two Firebirds but you have to accept the ergonomic "challenges" when you play them. I love the overall feel of them and damn nothing sounds like them.

Epiphone has certainly came a long way over the past 20 some odd years. In recent times, they are producing amazing guitars at a reasonable price. I have a G400 from back in 96 i bought when i was a teen, its quite badly built and took a lot of parts to get it decent lol but these in the last 20 years to today, are phenomenal!

I have an early 2000’s g400 goth and you are absolutely correct. Epiphone is now making serious gigging instruments at affordable prices. And even though I’m not really into the probuckers, I won’t deny that they are quality pickups.
It's cool looking but its a gateway drug. Just know if you get one that you'll spend more money in the long run because it will make you yearn for a real LPC, so on top of whatever you spend for this you need to factor in the cost of one of those.

Then that black 3 knob was the gateway to my other 3 SG's and of course, ES 135, Fender Basses, amps and all associated accessories. Not to mention ETSG and TTR, Marshall AMP forum,, EPI Talk, TalkBass etc etc.

Also -- a few years back.................................I had some coin and WANTED a THUNDERBIRD
I went to Sam Ash in Clearwater FL (wonderfull friggin store google it stupid awesome) and played
a GIBSON THunderbird
an Epiphone Neck through Thunderbird
an Epiphone Neck through "pro" thunderbird
and in all fairness-- an Epi bolt neck iv base model thunderbird
I own the Epi iv BASE MODEL (150.00 on ebay to my door NOE) Thunderbird --- it was just ..........simply ----for $ spent -- the best of the 4 --I could have BOUGHT the Gibson at the time THEY HAD A "SCRATCH N DENT " MODEL 1000.00 -- had cash in hand ---
AFTER PLAYING ALL OF THEM THROUGH THE SAME AMP W/ SAME SETTINGS....................I couldnt do it
YES If I was playing arenas and making 10 grand a show --- Id go GIBSON -- but lets be honest if I was doing that GIBSON would likely BEG ME to take one or 5 --ort a SIG model .................................
Im not ----Im dicking around after work....before dinner ....in my office--- reality check THISIS ALL I NEED-- to enjoy rich T-bird BOOM-- in my room.
AND I dont have the cost of 1 GIBSON THUNDERBIRD invested in BOTH BIRDS you see here..................and that is where it gets TRULY yummy
