Hi Robert. Can't answer your question but there is a 20 watt 12" combo for sale on my local classifieds for $300.00 Cdn. Really interested even though I just moved yesterday and have WAYYY more crap than one man should have in a single 8x10' bedroom! I think it might be time to sell my late 70's Fender 4x10 cab I haven't used in 5 years to make room. If the Blackstar is still available on Friday I just might check it out. They sound like a good bang for the buck.

Hey, Man! I hate to hear about downsizing. I downsized and I miss my Super Lead...but the honest answer, coming from a life-long Marshall worshipper, is the Blackstar is quieter and more versatile.
 
Is that, dare I say it, a solid state amplifier? Don't you fear the wrath of the tube worshipers? :hide: They may want to drag you from your home and lynch you on the nearest tree!:bash:

I like tube amps. Always have. My first was a JTM30 and a Super Lead Plexi after that.

The thing is, I have become more open minded as I became older. The Blackstar has some great features in a very user friendly platform and the tube emulation software is light years from the Valvestate I bought in 1997...
 
Geeeezz! Valvestates! I repaired those things until I finally began turning them away at the shop. One of the worst amplifiers ever made....

Don't know a thing about the amp you're looking at now but I'll bet it's got some dynamite chips in it! Sounds tasty!:)
 
I love mine call her "Ol Scratchy" cost me all of 45.00 --- 10" speaker--- real spring Reverb-- made in Britain......solid kit IMHO.
