The Lowly Marshall AVT412

Ya gotta scratch ya head at times with what you read . The Marshall AVT412 gets hate like its unable to make a sound at all. My requirements..#1) How it records 2) 15' out where i stand on stage

This cab became the best cab have and have an idea why

The 4 speakers are packed in tight with the top 2 angled up bit. The sound is dispersed like a 1x12 but super full & focused. In comparison 2my 1960 cabs. In my 2 tries in 16x16 recording area & 14 x24 bandroom. It gets the job . Might set 2 of these up for live use on 2nd guitar & load dif speakers to really flavor & layer the sound

Putting a slightly more efficient Emi Swamp Thing on bottom matched up perfectly with the 5150 1200's.

That was key, in the tries..ET65 & 90.v30 & Legend. The swamp brought up the bottom just right & really blended with the 5150. Cool thing is my fav cab v30/t75 has a dif flav & the 2 are awesome for slight tonal shift & sound massive used together. .

The cab is smaller & so easy to pick up. exact size for the Recto. The other rig 2) 2x12's with 1 semi open. Am getting much better results with these 2 rigs. Could potentially run em L & R live cause of both at 8 0hms. Maybe the draw is the tight focused sound disbursement & very even sound..not the typical blow by on a 4 12 or how it sounds better 100' back. The cab sounds very even & equal everywhere in the room & you can not tell which speaker is dominant..even up close. It's like a 1x12 but with more depth..punch & fullness. Really enjoy finding what speakers work with an amp. Mic goes there..just as important as the guitar..the amp..mic..preamp in the chain of your personal tone

I had one of those, years back.

Something about the dimensions of that cab, seems to keep it "tight"
I think you are right..kinda reminds me of a 4x12 projecting similar to a 1x12 but with more of everything.

It was underwhelming with the stock 50 watters but not too bad..they responded nice for chords & blues but any muting, not so good. Took a few speaker swaps to find the balance to where could not tell the top from bottom. On its own, it was much top speaker & no bottom participation at all in the projectioon

Did the same thing, replaced original speakers and it came to life.

If it sounds good it is good.

I while back I bought a Crate Blue Voodoo cab with the Crate Emi speakers for $100 from Sam Ash to have one to leave at a buddies house I was jamming with. It was in almost-new condition. It sounded amazing, as good as my Recto cab, not kidding.
Cool, my guitarist in the 90's had the Blue Vodoo rig, that cab was nice !

Those cabs are the same dimension as the MG cabs that I have been using, the first cab I grabbed was an AVT cab, I did end up selling it as a half stack with an AVT 50 H6C16859B-B029-4D7A-98BA-E1924D32A74C.jpeg

I'm not 100% but I believe the MG's were the replacement for the AVT?

But I think it's the same cab, plus or minus cab badge etc...

Mine was loaned to a friend of a friend, long story short, sold for drugs. I saw the dude at an intersection I was working in, but he was in his car.

Looked pretty surprised when a maniac in a florescent vest started running at his car swinging a 10lb maul over his shoulder. But he saw me coming and took off.

It was also years after the fact, but he remembered really fast lol.

Used to use it with Greenbacks and with my Marshall 2061 20 watt Lead and Bass, until I bought the 2061 slanted 2x12 for it. Worked like you would want it to work like, think it resonated better because of the different dimensions?

Hell of a story right there, mine all sound good to me but 2 of them have some replacement speakers in them, those are the ones I use with the Origin’s.998F6EC3-96D4-4881-A01E-C2884335A530.jpeg
