We see lots of black bears here but grizzlies are pretty rare close to town. This one was a mile down the road very near where I walk every morning. Saw a very big black bear a couple of days ago on my walk but no grizzlies. Our next door neighbours have fruit trees they don't pick. We had a black bear sleeping under a pine tree in our back yard last week. He had a nest he'd built.

Glad to hear no one was hurt and the bear safely captured.
I hope he / she can be relocated and has not become indoctrinated to be drawn to human habitation.
From what I have seen or read once they get a sense the human smells = opportunity it is hard to break them of it.

They plan to relocate it but it often doesn’t work. They are very territorial. Other bears will drive it out of their territory. Grizzlies are enjoying a resurgence here. As the population grows the younger ones are forced to find new territory which often means they find human populations.

Black bears I respect but don’t fear them. Grizzlies I’m scared shitless. This time of year they all are so fat and lazy there isn’t much to fear but grizzlies are too unpredictable. Even the black bears steer clear of them.
 
Man I would need something like a 454 Casul or 500 Linebaugh to feel better but you still have to have time to react.

Yep, I don’t care for bear encounters.

After my brown bear attack my friends in law enforcement sent me forensic photos every one a hand gun next to the body
sorry a 454 or 500 is like a fly swatter to a brown bear. .338 is minimum for hunting in Alaska the law.
