I've been motorcycle riding out in Inscription Canyon - North of Barstow - and recorded surface temperatures of 164°F on the black, volcanic rocks, with a temp gun
Chloride City and Furnace Creek are other frequent stops along my dirt bike trail and I've seen 130°F on my pocket A/C thermometer numerous times.
Yesterday morning I took a pic of my outdoor thermometer, it was in direct sunlight, so it was off a few but it was at 130 degrees
