Congrats on the VS100R
@BFT Gibson.
I have the VS65R and I love it.
Here's a thing though.
Someone on the MF pointed out that the minimum load for the VS100R is 4 ohms and just the combo on its own runs a single 8 ohm Goldback.
Therefore the stock VS100R is actually running below full volume capability (about 65W? I don't know the maths).
If you add the VS112 cab (8 ohms) then you get the full advertised volume capability from the combined 4 ohm parallel load (50W + 50W).
To get the combo alone up to 100W you would need to find a 4 ohm speaker that can handle the power.
Also, can you tell me how the tone controls are on the VS100R.
The Bass on both channels of my VS65R add nothing more after about 12 O'clock.
Is the VS100R the same?
And a final note on the ECC83 in the preamp.
According to the manual the tube is in both the Clean/Crunch and OD circuits.
I haven't checked the schematic on this though.
"The VS65R, VS100R, VS102R and VS100H will easily handle any of the above applications but
also boast many additional features plus a single ECC83 valve in the pre-amp to add greater sparkle to
clean and extra grind and dynamics to crunch and overdrive settings."
Have a ball with your new(ish) amp.
