New Former Amp Day
The return of the DSL 100H, started out, a friend bought new from Sweetwater, traded laney IRT for it. It came with Classic side on green modded to run wide open like NMV. Was fantastic plug in & have at it. Ultra was lil fizzy yet. Boost for leads on green. We then traded the 2 amps back & then it got made like his JCM 800 on Green & Boosted on Ultra lead 1 & then 900 SLX range on lead 2.

Many changes have been made from values, to caps, choke. transformer. It serious plays like 4 amps. Don;t do the channel switcher thing but use them in their individual modes separately. This amp originally chased a very nice 6100 out the door, now it really has it.

The gain sweep has been modded so its usable the whole sweep, it will not fizz. On 100 it punches. Ultra lead 1 reminds me of the KK 800 a lot. 50 watts, its flat out nasty. In a way the gain was backed down to be used the whole sweep & there is so many dif sounds available. It has the the roar back. It likes the Peavey cab & the 1960bx & the 5150 peaveys. Very fortunate to have this back. Amps are done after the new one get here tomorrow. Have the keepers in the room & final line up done. What a journey !!

I would like to try modding my 100H in a similar fashion, but for the time being I run it green/clean, with a BE-OD up front. I have the internal gain trim in the OD dialed back a ways, but I really dig the huge sound I'm getting from it this way.

When I bought it in 2013, I really wasn't sure what I was gonna get, being Vietnamese and all....but I have no regrets. It's a great amp, especially given it's price.

My friends have have had a blast with it. They have many Marshall's & are really into it. One dude had tracked values since the mid 70's, the one he thought were special that came through the shop & the other guy is so far gone into amps..his whole house has em from top to bottom. I mean literally everywhere...on the kitchn table..counters...shop is packed with work. My other friend is a fender guru & he makes a killing fixing the circuits..they are ntoriously grounded wrong & when the amps come back..no noise & all circuits traced..you tell him exactly how you play & then bring your guitar..play it before you take it home..if its not quite there..more mods. Every amp i get goes to these guys before put it in rotation. Good for many years then. They both are in their upper 60's & will sure miss them. Never want to come home..cause all the amps are there in a line from Marshall & Fender ..just about every amp there is. The Jmp's & 45's they have are mind blowing. They collected the stock ones. Then they both have the modded ones.. to play. Amazing connections

pretty much wowed,

The clean channel..kinda floored how it can pull off some of the fender type tone i use a lot.

Viewing this as a a 4 separate channel amp with the tweaks on all 4 modes. It opened this amp up. I think the key was, my tech friends used actual amps they have to reference ..kept tweaking here & there over a few years.. Put the 2x12 with Celestion V type & Crate Celestion under the p\Peavey 2x12(t75/v3o) what a full sound & the cab sits a bit higher ..very nice sound spread,

Huge bonus..at low.. mean barley on ..sitting right at it ..fantastic hi fi low level sound..

Just finished 'Your Love" tracking. The 100h was exactly what was looking for. Ran it on 100 watts, not so much for the volume but the tightness & fullness. The 50 watters (now that i have been attempting to sing), sorta fight me a bit. Was real easy to place the vocals today. Then put the 5150 on top of it for 2nd guitar/leads. Great combo together. having a blast with this project.
