Do You think that 2X 10" speakers biamplified elct crossover with 2X 15 inch speakers
is better than just 2X 15" alone?
Or for that matter 8X 10" speakers?
Or is it all over rated?
Please define what a bass speaker should be if you have any hands on knowledge.
Thanks again as usual.

I have this ---

with a 12" bass driver--
I have had a tuck n roll 15" KUSTOM
several other brands and names Peavey w/ 15" and one with 10" -- Ashdown -- Marshall--Orange--Acoustic--even a VOX ----
all got sent packing (some costing 5 to 6 times as much as the Hartke) ----they didnt cut the mustard-- some may have been better on stage--
for my uses and tone preference -- 1 12" is king

maybe 2 x12" would be .......better?

like 10's for tight attack & the more the merrier for live work
15's for motown & more rounded sound or doom stuff

most my stuff is the Ampeg pf50t into the SVT210av..mic'g 1 speaker on grill. Just works real well, Since i got that rig last year, 2 of my friends that have studio's immediately went & got one cause of how it records & the features. it will grind like my fridge. Its not a gig rig with enough stage volume if you need it for monitor,,but if you got a killer PA at the venue with a way to hear yourself..would absolutely gig this little monster..the line out features are excellent.

Hahahahahaha! Thanks! But your set up is amazing sounding! I would love to get ahold of one of those Ampeg heads someday. Thing is, I have more choices than I deserve on bass.

I am totally on board with this opinion/observation:

100%

So wish we all lived closer..we would have a blast making music together ! It seems there is a core here that just won't let rock music die & the passion for this thing runs deep !!

BUWAHAHAHAHAHA....
no.....clean wet humidity is different --beats salt on the highway 10 fold --- Ive lived up north -- and remember people up there paying TOP DOLLAR for used "southern" cars....

I have a 2005 F-150 --223,000 miles --- w/ zero body rust to prove it ;)

find me one of them from Michigan ---

It depends on the purpose. Live in clubs, I would say ten or twelve inch speakers are the max you would want to use because of the distance needed for the sound to open up. Fifteen inch speakers do not sound loud on the stage, so people tend to turn up the amp too loud, then when your twenty feet away from the stage, you can not hear anything but bass. Granted, in larger clubs, you will not have the same issues depending on the PA system used. Recording is a whole different can of worms depending on Iso booths, etc.
