"The X"..Epiphone Explorer, Sanded down the front & sealed. Sanded neck. The feel is is fantastic & very fast. The large slab makes for a deep full sound..heck of a rhythm machine. Skulls..why not !! The pics don't do justice. It really shows well. Pickups wound to 10.5 a5 & 9.8 a2. Its pretty balanced but its set up for hot bridge & neck. Added strap button for balance. Really shine in boosted JMP.Explorer X bandanna.jpgExploerer X skulls.jpgExplorer X stand FR.jpgExplorer X rear.jpgExplorer X sand neck.jpgExploere X grain.jpgExplorer X in case.jpg

I love those knobs, pure evil.

I just sold my Epiphone Explorer today. Definitely a dark, bass-heavy metal machine. The new owner was very excited, being a Metallica fan and the fact that it came with the case, which are not cheap to buy. I made a lot of changes to mine but I think the best changes were replacing the selector switch and bridge with better parts (Switchcraft and TonePros in my case) and changing the pickups.

They sure are deep sounding.. think that was the appeal. It's funny, it immediately makes you play Metallica..the deep rhythm tone seems to be built in. What really got me was how nice the cleans are, in the haunting way.
