So Anyway...

So anyway, my wife's uncle Doug (her mom's brother) passed Monday from COVID-19.
We were pretty close; the 3 of us went to The Rolling Stones show last August.
We saw him several times after that over for Holiday, or a burger and what not. Wife spoke with him on the phone pretty regularly.
Acoustic player for 50+years too.

He had been experiencing some mobility problems, all his blood work, exams, etc., were good so he went to stay at a local nursing home short time for physical therapy. We were appalled to hear that.

He contracted it in there, had no other ailments, non-smoker, healthy before this, etc.
But it took him.

I had some very harsh and pointed words here regarding the PRC but edited it back to avoid political commentary.

if that means what i think it does ive said a few uh things concerning that myself but i keep it to myself.. or eESGe in a emails hahahaha. Its like all touchy subjects theres no end to opioins and whose right and who isnt and never really ends well so for restraining urself there jtcnj good for you and sorry for your loss. I have no other place on the Interwebs that i visit for social networking so thats why its always best those touchy subjects stay on Facebook :)

Sorry for your loss. Nursing homes have been the site of the biggest COVID losses in NY.

So anyway.....

I've been living with a pinched nerve in my back between my shoulder blades for the last five weeks. Shooting pain all the way to my fingers on my left hand. Finally had a video chat with the doc today since it has been getting worse. Prednisone and muscle relaxers for me. Maybe I will be able to start playing again!
Hope you are flailing those digits over the stings again real soon brother!

1. I am damn glad the rider survived -- I had seen that video on face book but no "follow up"
2. where is the BLEEPBLEEPBLEEPBLEEPBLEEPBLEEP that was driving the mini van ????? and can I borrow him for an hour or two? Im trying to train Odin to fetch balls ;)

So anyway, as I'm driving down the road, my aging eyes managed to catch a glimpse of a familiar sight in a pile of discarded trash.
So a quick u turn was in order.
The excitement builds as I get out of my car and near the heap of trash, but it quickly turned into the disappointment of reality.
The item in question... An old Winchester Western Super X wooden shotshell crate.
But it was all busted up... :(
As a hoarder of cool guy stuff I thought a Winchester crate would be a nice accessory to my wooden Budweiser crate.
However it just wasn't meant to be.
But I was already there, so I loaded up what pieces I could find and scurried home with my treasure.
The only piece of the crate that was even legible and intact was one end panel.
And I proceeded to turn it into this...

Had a few old Winchester 12 ga. shells laying around, so one became a volume knob

And a .30-06 fired case, with a fresh Sierra 125 gr. spitzer bullet crimped in for effect, to make a dandy bridge.
It pays to be a handloader.

So out of a busted up Super X crate, an electric dulci strummer was born.
The evolution of trash.

So anyway, Adrian came by today for lunch.
Usually we do a Beef O'Brady's outing, but with the Covid as it is, we decided to forgo public association with germ carrying parasites of the world.
So we commandeered the westernmost swamp outpost and had burgers on the grill, with grilled onions & 'maters for the bill of fare.
Guinness & Budweiser flowed as freely as did our nonsensical banter.
As usual, a gear exchange took place, but will not be revealed until it has fully ripened in the tropical sun of the swamp.
No pictures, no fanfare, just a nice afternoon well spent goofing off.

I love the old Super X stuff. My dad has been reloading since the late 70's. I need to have him make me some dummy cartridges for future projects.
