It's difficult to think of any more colossal waste of money.
This Rode guy has 9 million to throw down a toilet....
as long as I am here, I was never impressed in any way by Curt Cobain.
I have no idea why anybody would listen to that noise.

I would have paid $39 for that trashed Martin, to take the parts off of it. :pound-hand:

It's made out of compressed paper. (it really is) And it has one of those plastic crap preamps stuck in the side of it too. (bonus) :ohno:

Call that Rode guy, he knows a bargain when he sees it.

It is in a word: pathetic.

The bass player for Nirvana lives across the Columbia River from me. Have you jammed with Sir Paul McCartney as Dave Grohl has. Trashin Nirvana over here is fighting words. Like insulting Jimi. Don't get me wrong, I like Nirvana, heck I grew up on Nirvana. Still, Curt Cobain was a pretty modest guy by most accounts, he was even homeless for a while and got a lot of his clothes from dumpsters or second hand stores so having his stuff sell for that kind of money comes pretty close to the very definition of irony.

Love em or Hate em......this video rocked then and still ROCKS now---- they brought a WHOLE new Genre to light and frankly KILLED Hair Band MEtal.....(in popularity)
regardless of his personal trials -- the guy wrote some KILLER tunes and managed a music career using basic gear.....little effects or techno wizardry -- just WAILING and Screaming ---
Fan boy? no -- but I do respect the body of work he left


IF a bazillionare wants to spend that kind of $ for a guitar -----Id bet Kurt woulda got a laugh outta how he just STUCK it to the MAN

I got no dought Cobain bought that Cardigan sweater at a second had store. I live close to Cobains home town of Aberdeen Washington and its a old timber logging town filled with second hand stores ect. Why you think they playin ol cheap ass Fender Mustangs for . They couldnt afford Gibsons and the like like all the silver spoon kids. They were kids from poor broken homes and the likes that made it world wide. I remerber when Kurt killed himself . It just brought a gloom to the whole pacific northwest. as i remember ever Eddie Van Halen spoke at a memorial service for Kurt.

At these prices, I have a Martin for sale at bargain basement prices. It did shrink when I washed it though. :pound-hand:

I have some doubts about Kurt being his own killer...but it's hard to say for sure, and we'll likely never know the entire story
 
Almost all the other people in the "grunge" bands of the era are dead too, sadly. We have few left.
 
Ray i love Kurt and Nirvanas music. No ive never been a Heroin addict but ive been everything else but i dont count that against the guy. I also love Sound Garden , Mud Honey , the Melvins , Alice in Chains ect. Adrian is correct in that so called Grunge music put LA hair metal in the grave. I like hair metal too hahahaha. Im a guitar rock guy.

We really shouldn't glorify (Fking) Heroin Addicts.
It sends the wrong message to young children.

I kinda like to think that hair metal killed itself. Possibly people were tired of a decade of men dressed in drag and all writing the same things...folks were ready for a change. During this time, we saw lots of actual metal begin to flourish, albeit in a less visible way...Pantera released CFH, their 5th and breakthrough album, Metallica dropped the Black Album, Megadeth had Countdown and Youthanasia, just to name a few...meanwhile, the radio waves were all about grunge, or anything NOT hair
