What’s on the Grill

NCbbqD
Used to have the classic Weber 14" Smokey Joe grill for camping/outdoor activities

Used the poor thing for many years until it couldn't anymore.

Today we received a new one, I'm about to put it together. This one is 18" and built slightly more robust than the smokey joe we used to have

Here she is. Now, just gotta load up the kids, get something to throw on this thing, and head out for the day.

We're going to scout out a place to go camping soon, today will be a good opportunity, and we can do a little cookout somewhere

Reminds me of time years back when my kids where quite young.
We all piled into the truck and headed to this large park in the hills.
I had brought the little grill and my wife had packed up a bunch of chicken. We had just got the grill ready and I had started the chicken and the Park rangers had come to tell us the park is now closed. Well my little grill had a feature that when you closed the lid and turned it it would lock, and I could pick it up and carry it.
So I grabbed it and had my wife drive us back home, while I tended to the grub cookin away, the truck had a shell and I had the back up lol, you could imagine some of the looks we got at red lights ha ha, that shell was sure smokin.
Great times, and the old adage
Adapt and overcome..

Thanks for triggering a long ago memory!!

Lol that's a great story! Goes to show that anything can happen!

I think I can pick this grill up and move it around as well, if needed, which is something that I hadn't even considered before....but now sure seems like a super handy deal

My son does a lot of fish; I just sent him this link with some nice looking salmon recipes for the grill.

Nice!

I'll cook salmon tonight but it looks like it will be too windy for a BBQ :(
