I have not seen a "plus" associated with the description. Is that a new version?Ray, is that the Taylor GS Mini-e Koa Plus? If so where did you find it? They are not in stock anywhere...
Otherwise, there are plenty of them on Reverb

Upgraded tuners, the ES2 system (three knobs, no tuner), upgraded case, and shaded edge burst. I will stick with the older version. I would rather have a tuner than extra eq options (plus, I am not plugging in my acoustic) - the case they give is already stellar - it is a crime to spray a shaded edge on Koa wood - as for the better ratio tuners, nice, but not a big deal for meIt is a new version for 2020. From what I've gathered it is a pre-order and they are $999.
That was an odd battle since neither the wood or construction has changed and he played acoustically.

Also, I got a discount on my GS - $ 750I agree with you Ray, the extra features don't add $200 value IMO. I would never plug it in either. I thought
maybe the Koa was solid all around instead of laminated back and sides. Tuners can be swapped easily...

Koa guitars, or other guitars which have a figured top as a main attribute, are all a "one of a kind" type of occurance - once you see "the one" that gets you, the wallet just opens up!Yea, I've seen discounted Koa GS Mini e guitars for as low as $650. I thought they both sounded the same in the video.
No reason to pay $200 more for electronics that won't get used...
Thanks! Good info. I was itching for a reason to lighten the strings! My GS Mini Mahogany (No electrics) developed a beer belly after a year. I guess it go's around with the some of the mahogany's if you do a search on it. I'm assuming the climate is very different in Mexico where the GS Mini's are built. I replaced the stock Elixir 13's with D'Addario 12's. Bye bye beer belly. I also personally like the lighter gauge strings on the GS Mini's 23" scale. Very nice playing, RVA!
I've had a GSMini-E for a couple of years. It is my goto guitar for jams. Plug it into whatever is there and it sounds good. When I first got it I tried a couple of different brands of 12's but ended up going back to the Taylor recommended Elixir Medium Gauge Phosphor Bronze NANOWEB (.013-.056). The lighter strings were a little floppy with the short 23" scale length plus the 13's are louder and have a fuller sound. Thanks! Good info. I was itching for a reason to lighten the strings!
That might depend on the brand and type of strings. I remember reading from other's experiences that going one size smaller will negatively affect the guitar, yet other's experiences was the opposite. I guess it worked out for me, and maybe the lighter D'Addarios are inherently brighter than the stock Elixers.I've had a GSMini-E for a couple of years. It is my goto guitar for jams.
