So I didn't get a Peavey (also didn't get a red-knob Champ 12 that I considered for a while). Instead I got this:

This was the cheapest one of these around. Someone's already put a Cannabis Rex in it and switched to TAD tubes. That's probably not too bad.

Anyway, it does sound more like what I'm after than the Laney that I just traded in for some pedals and pickups.

Funny... When I had my previous Fender amp I always wished it wasn't so goddamn clean and loud. Now I got this because the Laney wasn't clean and loud enough :D

aon. I ask -- because I wish to learn--please indulge me.............

does this tune offend -- or pleasure Finish folks?
---or do you all not give a crap either way????

:p I find it hard to believe that anyone would be offended by it.. But I guess this one's not that popular or exciting since the first comment about the "market square" is only the fourth and there are relatively few of them:

That one's pandering to the international audience, this is the classic way to do it:

"Finland has been mentioned, let's celebrate at the market square!"

Meaning that us being mentioned somewhere is such a special occasion that we should celebrate it at the square where sport victories are usually celebrated.

Does that answer your question @eSGEe ? :ROFLMAO:

Word to the wise the Fender Blues JR burns power tubes fast why to high of a B+1 voltage 329 VDC stated more in the range of 360 VDC
A 7189 power tube can take 440 VDC that power tube will save you in the long run.
EL84 is only rated at 300 VDC max. Hope that helps.

Thanks! Looks like Tung-Sol 7189's are relatively easy to get here and not that expensive. Can't get matched pairs though it seems.

Another thing I read was that swapping V1 with 5751, or 12AY7, or whatever... and lowering the gain would make the highest gain happen further up the volume dial and thus make the lower end of the spectrum more manageable? Not that it seems unmanageable now, but might be something to try. Those are also pretty inexpensive...

Anyway I'm waiting on an attenuator / di box thing so I can get a line out to my cab sim for completely silent practice.

yes--- very clearly-- insight-fully-- and intelligently----
you could have just said no lol

See this is why Finland is so lovely ---- ;)

So this morning I turned the amp on. No sound :(. Ruined my day thinking what it might be... Turns out that the speaker cable had fallen off the speaker. That was a cheap fix :) Since I had the chassis lifted I extended the speaker cable a bit, now I can have my attenuator on top of the amp instead of behind it. Also noticed that the tube socket board should probably be replaced before it fails, looks like some of the pads are already lifted off the PCB. Luckily the replacements aren't that expensive and the "deluxe" ones come with a bias pot as well.

I hope you repaired this in a way that will not allow this to occur again. I've not looked at the Blues Junior schematic to see if it features any kind of output transformer protection in this kind of scenario, but playing through a tube amp with no speaker load connected can be extremely detrimental to the OT as it causes the voltage on the primary to sky-rocket. This can easily kill the OT.
Congrats & enjoy on you newest amp acquisition. Cheers
