...I almost lost the tip of my middle finger on my fretting hand!
I was using my circular saw and the board slipped, the saw kicked back and grabbed the index, middle and ring finger on my left hand!
It hurt like a bitch and the first thing I saw was a lot of blood and some cut meat through my now destroyed gloves!
After I got the glove off and soaked my hand in some alcohol I was relived to see that only the middle finger was cut. I calmly told the wife
to get some super glue, some AD ointment and some bandaging material. She was more freaked out than I was, but she didn't lose it.
The cut was to the bone, but it didn't nick it or break it. Most likely a 5 or 6 stitch job at the ER after a 6 hour wait. I just super glued it back
together and bandaged it up. The other two fingers are bruised, but fine.
I've been doing major carpentry work to include building complete houses since I was 14 and this is the first time a saw got away from me.
It was my fault for trying to split a 1x4 in half with a circular saw on the edge of a table...46 years and you get over confident I guess...
All's well that ends well!
