Wanted to wait a few days to see if the initial impression would last. It is the missing sound been looking for..the singles & strumming chords & raunchy edge of break up leads. Its not a tele or a start & that is why i like it.. Just a great guitar...will be recorded a bunch..works well with my other main strum guitar, the Gibson Nighthawk. being half a midget...this thing fits me right n & like most reviews state..it is fast !! The stuff you see on the net about it..pretty spot on..n mods needed ..stays in tune..intonation...pickups..neck..and most important the sound..its all there !!Duo stand fr.jpgDuo sofa.jpgduo body.jpgDuo rear.jpg

Thanks guys ! Believe it or not ..more has gone out than came in last few weeks. 2 months of brutal honesty & a/b ing it all. Almost have studio completely set up. basically set J up in the LR cause of her neck & has to use them special beds to prop up. So the master addition i buillt after the accident has turned into a very comfy studio. Unfortunately the bandroom out back is on year 4 of no band..would never have this gear if we were gigging like we used to. Much more into playing..its a bittersweet thing..have been able to a/b so much gear & get down to real evaluations..soon as the recording equipment came in & i started putting things in a mix..many "oppinions" i had, where not so.
 
many more hours on them now...can not put the Duo & Mustang down...some thoughts

Duo--24..is perfect for my hands..can nail full chords better & its stupid fast for leads
it is the most balanced guitar i ever held
this is a neat guitar..the singles are just right for it..if you been caught between strat-tele & they kinda annoy ya after awhile,,the in-between sound is a refreshing tone option
also there is a sound that rings out a lil dif..its an upper harmonic ..maybe...some slightly less dense in a way

Mustang..the pickups are like a take on from the duo & then up..they scream but not in a fizzbo way..the 9-10 on vol knob is very cool full to slash instantly
with the 25.5 scale gives a slightly deeper sound & throw a boost on a PV or Supro & its instant grunge but will tighten up on guitar vol..this needs pots & prob tuners. Some of my requirements in my keepers is staying in tune & intonation...must haves...the Duo stays & the Mustang decent but not quite like duo..maybe cause i beat on it more probably but it begs it

both remind me of my SG's & Nighthawk..how my hand rests on body & lands right at perfect strum angle..maybe why i gravitate to certain guitars...the ones that you naturally fit..no forcing..no always tweaking in ya mind..one that the guitar is strapped up, .,.leaves your worries & just connects directly to your soul..where the real music lives

Have had all my guitars out again in comparisons..its not a revelation or anything but for each of us there are great guitars available..you have to know what you want..not what others push

the keepers in my arsenal are because they work specifically for me..price..weight..where..who...cost..is not a factor in them..its a bonding that makes me wanna play & play & play vs ego & peer pressure..lol

if we ever get out again..PV amps & some Squires will be up onstage..why..cause they sound great !!
